Gopher
A man's man. Absolute legend. First round NFL draft pick. Fourth round NBA draft pick. Won an NBA title playing alongside George Mikan for the Lakers, then went on to win four Grey Cups coaching in Canada. Took the Vikings to all of their four SB appearances. Member of both the NFL and CFL Hall of Fame. But, it was the other off-the-field stories that were my favorites about Bud. Performing the coin toss for the 2016 Wild Card game against Seattle in short sleeves (in -6 degrees). Or how he spent his 95th birthday turkey hunting with a group of friends. RIP, Bud. You were one of a kind. Bud Grant

SeductiveNun
Best Vikings coach ever and a terrific person on top of that. RIP.
purplemonster
I was laughing pretty hard when he came out for the coin toss with a tshirt on, they don't make them like Bud anymore. Only guy apparently to play in the NFL, CFL, and NBA, I didn't even know he played basketball. https://www.outkick.com/bud-grant-certified-tough-guy-who-wore-short-sleeves-in-subzero-temps-dead-at-95/
stevegrab
RIP Bud. Didn't know much about him outside of his NFL coaching with the Vikings.
MikesVikes
The most respected person in sports in my opinion. He will be missed.
SEEDS
Great read about a young Bud Grant out duck hunting when the 1940 Armistice Day Blizzard killed many hunters. https://m.startribune.com/bud-grant-minnesota-vikings-armistice-day-blizzard-duck-hunting-victims-dennis-anderson/600224352/ Edited March 16, 2023 by SEEDS

What an amazing story, very lucky that any of them survived.
