rajncajn
Anyone have video feed on the McCallum injury ? I want to be ill this morning...... 569892 It's doubtful...that was quite a while back. You may be able to get a pic of it. I have brought up his name on numerous occasions & I do agree, his was the worst I've ever seen. Too bad too, the guys looked like he could've had a great NFL career. Itsnottatooma
You guys asked for it: Ouch, I can touch my toes. 569931 Yup that's the one. I think that was the only injury I ever saw where I immediately knew it was a carrer-ender. I agree:
Jimmy Neutron
I know this is the NFL board before anyone reminds me, but McGahee's college injury was pretty sick as well. 569122 That's what I thought of when I read the thread title. Maybe that one sticks out because it is so recent. It is really amazing to remember that and see the kid running this year.
Wolverines Fan
Theisman - it was the first and the night it happened they must have shown it a million times. It was so bad, that (as I recall) the announcers didn't even realize what had happened. I remember on the first replay hearing something about an 'awful ankle injury' except that the bend was between the ankle and knee. Let's also remember it was a compound fracture where the bone sank partly into the ground. 569918 Probably Theisman. They kept playing it over and over. After Theisman's leg broke, you could see the bottom half of his leg flopping around. Of course, they ran it in regular replay so you could hear the crack when his leg broke. Hugh 0ne
McCaffrey's sticks in my mind because it was on September 10th, 2001.

Streaker
I'd vote for Theismans as the worst. Worst I have seen was Bryant Young. The absolute worst was all 5 my knee injuries. <couse I am biased!> Glad we are watching football injuries and not injuries caused from hockey skates. J.D.Morrison
Had to bring this up again......from the sportsdesk of Kevin Hench of FoxSports.... THE UGLIEST MOMENTS IN SPORTS HISTORY... Joe Theismann There have been many ugly sports moments that have made us recoil in horror or wince in embarrassment for humanity, but when it comes to making us want to vomit, one stands out above the rest: Joe Theismann breaking his leg on Monday Night Football. It seems like it became almost commonplace, the tibia and fibula snapping, the ankle dislocating, the lower leg pointing the wrong way, often flopping around like a fish on a dock. Tim Krumrie, Moises Alou, Jason Kendall, Ed McCaffrey all come nauseatingly to mind. But for sheer, involuntary, reverse peristaltic impulse, nothing beats the first time we saw a leg snap "like a potato chip in too-thick dip" as Hank Hill would memorably describe it. Soylent Green
My knees are terrible (3 surgeries) so most knee injuries make me but I saw Theisman's live like everyone else over and over and over again. IMHO, it was the worst. The ones that creep me out the most; however, are the dislocated fingers, usually on WRs and QBs where the finger or thumb is pointing in the wrong direction.
