After seeing this quote on ESPN.com:

Peyton Manning's gestures before the snap can drive you crazy

it made me curious. I've heard people talk about it before. It really seems to bother some people. After watching it for 7 years, I am used to it. I don't even notice it. Yeah, we all know he's reading the defense, blah, blah, blah. I'm just curious how people who aren't Colts fans feel. Is it really that bad? If you voted that you don't like it, why?

right now chargers vs ravens

jets vs colts

so the ravens would have to beat the chargers for the colts/pats to meet

:D

I think once again we have to say these gyrations, while to be very white like, are classless gyrations...

LOL

Not that big a deal. It may help him get in a rhythm or could be secret code to his stock broker or Al Qaida operatives. A lot of QB's have some little nuance just as a batter in the batters box. Most defensive players from what I understand watch the ball, shoulders, and hands of the offensive players to key on.

Manning seems like the kind of guy I'd like to have a beer with. Manily so I can smash a glass mug over his head.

Watching a true master who is in the middle of something we may never see again, priceless.

I didn't really appreciate 1984 mainly because I couldn't stand Marino. I won't make that mistake this time.

Those annoying gestures is one of the things that makes him a great QB! The defenses can't tell if he really is changing the plays or if he is running a bluff!

This is exactly right. It's a very large part of his success and he's able to do it because he gets his team up to the line of scrimmage in plenty of time. More power to him - all QBs should learn from it.

Kinda' tough to quibble with anything that manning's doing right now.

As a spectator, it's a little annoying...but only a little. And if it helps him and helps his team to win, than I don't think any fan, Colts-fan or otherwise, has any grounds to complain about it.

Good point by Ursa I thought - I never thought about it before, but as I mull it over I do not think too many QBs can get their team to the line early enough to enable themselves to make those extensive audibles.
