Law in town today!

Everybody in Seattle knows if the player doesn't sign a contract before getting back on that long flight elsewhere, they aren't coming back. Seattle has the money and a big hole at corner, and would have to be seen as a contender to a veteran looking for another ring. This just seems too good to be true!!

Jets and Pats homers, am I missing something here?? All I really know is that he was a Pro Bowl alternate. I'm not expecting the Ty Law of a few years ago, but he still plays at a high level doesn't he?

He had the season ending surgery 2 yrs ago and then he had large cap number on his last year of his deal. They couldn't work out a restructure/extension, so he was cut. I think his performance last year with the Jets answered the injury question, so if I was a Seahawks fan, I would be hoping he signs.

If Seattle signs him, hopefully he won't bite on WR reverse passes. Or he doesn't get burned on 3rd and 27.    :D

That's pretty funny. Did you type that all by yourself, or did you have a ref do it for you?

I heard about the ref who would sneak on people's accounts and type things like that for people. It's there way of covering up the negative tracks they made.

But I really do hope Seattle signs Ty Law. They could use another dependable and threatening DB. This would be one more huge positive off-season move for the Seahawks :D I doubt the The only 6 time Super Bowl Winners and YOUR DADDY will have the chance to 'steal' another one from the Seahawks, but first they would have to make it past the Colts and Bengals again, which is highly doubtful.

Law's last year with the Jets was only dependable and threatening to the scoreboard operator. He is a shadow of his former self, think Deion.

In my opinion LT ended Ty Law career ended when LT made a sick juke move and made Ty Law look like a deer staring at shiny headlights. If the NFL was touch football LT would have scored.

You can keep him. He is past his prime and good riddens from Jets.

:doah: What?

No well wishes for an ex-jet, just bashing? From what I've seen he wants too much money but still has a little gas left in the tank.

He is above par but he is not the $ that he will get from whatever team. Do I wish he stayed a Jet I wouldnt mind but if they paid him what he wanted I woulda been fuming. His injury def. slowed him down.

Not bashing him really..just saying hes overpriced and he will be over paid (even before I see the contract). But I do remember when LT juked him...oh man i was embarassed for him.

But is that a reflection on Law's diminishing skills, or simply a credit to LT's?

I mean, LT is arguably the finest running back in the NFL. Juking people is what he does.

Although I don't recall seeing the play in question, I don't know that it's necessarily a given that you suck just because you got beat by the best in the game.

How he covers WR's would be more important to me. 10 interceptions the season after having major surgery sounds like he has something left.

Everyone agrees he wants too much money, but most agree he can still play.

That being said, it's getting late in free agency, and at some point his number will have to come down.

Holmgren was interviewd on local radio this AM, & said he was meeting with Law this morning, specifically to find out where his head is at monetarily.

Another plus: if he signs with with Seattle, even if he has lost a step he would be backed up by the triumvirate of Hamlin/Boulware/Babineaux, one of the best safeties corps anywhere.

He did get beat by the best in the league. But that particular play was bad. He was more scared of LT being LT than actually going in for the tackle. If another RB did the same exact move I bet you he would have gotten him. Its just one thing I will always remember from Ty Law. I am a Jets Homer and I will admit he has something left in him but not alot. Dont let his 10 interceptions fool you. Offense against the Jets had many opportunities to throw balls.

Will he be an improvement in Seattle? Yes he will if you take out the money factor (and assuming he doesnt get re-injured).

Just my opinion. I was glad when he came to the Jets and I am glad hes gone.

Wow, that sounds pretty brutal. Like I said, I didn't see the play, so thanks for the insight.

Isn't that the game where TL had 4 touchdowns? I think he took the whole team out back to the woodshed.

Yeah he did. He had three I think, a rushing td, catching td, and throwing td

But it just stayed with me. Guess one of those things.

Alot of team took the Jets to the woodshed :D

This is interesting considering the younger Ty Law probably would have been able to react quicker but like another post said earlier, LT IS one of, if not the best RB in the game right now. Given Law's age I can see how a rebuilding Jets team would not mind to see him go; however, a team like the Seahawks already in its prime with a considerable amount of support to assist Ty Law he will only improve the defense. The Ty Law today is more of a 'shadow' name today (somewhat like Deion Sanders before his recent retirement again) but it's still difficult to imagine WR's lining up against him don't feel somewhat threatened. If you compare his stats last year to the ones previous, his tackles only decreased a marginal amount. I still find it difficult to 'ignore' the 10 INT's he had though, it does prove he still has gas left in the tank.

We have not heard any rumors whether or not he has decided to sign a contract with the Seahawks but at this point I still think he would be a great asset to the team if he did go ahead and opt to join. It's too bad his age will be a factor and he may only get a one or two year contract but I wouldn't mind seeing him on the Seahawks for those one or two years! :D

If they sign him with the team they have right now. With Trufant and Law. That D and that O. U wouldnt want to see either. Shoots really dont want to see either now. They are just a DE that is crazy on passrush away from giving the Hawks corners at least 5 INT each all 3. When u do as much havoc as it is looking for the Hawks those corners are going to have a field day not to mention Safety. Its almost getting to the point with this signing its Super Bowl or Bust. Now if the get the draft to go well for them. Youth infusion with vets. This team may have a few more runs at the SuperBowl besides this yr. Because everyone seems to be in the prime of their position now at key areas of the team. Now they just have to get that team chemistry with the newbies of the team.

He's probably still looking for $10 million guaranteed, but should be starting to come down on that. I'd like to see him in Seattle, Miami or Kansas City myself.
