theeohiostate
With of the man love in this forum for these two teams, where's the smack? I have to go with Texas, to keep the OSU strength of schedule up there. Should be a good game, OU hasn't proved to me or anyone else they are more then Peterson this season, and a running game approach against the vaulted Longhorn D will not bode to well for them Saturday. I know this is a HUGE game for your Big 12 Homers, good luck with your respective teams and Go Longhorns
Droobie42
ahh it's like christman coming early!! wooohooooo with a spread like Texas -5, I can't help but wager on this game. I will be there like the last two years, but this is my final Texas OU as a student. I don't see any reason for us to lose this game, so it should be a fun saturday!! How many OU freshman does it take to change a lightbulb? None, it's a sophomore course. I mean the fight song only contains 2 words, correct? HOOK 'EM ...Also, pick up some creativity, jumping in with "sucks" after Texas is just lame, and turning the logo upside down, someone needs to bring OU's pride into the new century. Perchoutofwater
I'll be there, though this year I have to sit on the OU side. My brother is an OU fan, and he and I go to the game every year, and we alternate sides we sit on. It should be a good game. If McCoy can protect the football Texas should win easily, if not, it is anyones game. I think Texas will probably win by 10+, but my concerns with McCoy's ability to protect the ball would keep me from wagering on it. I see Texas running it straight up the gut at that soft belly of the OU interior linemen. OU will make a few big plays to keep it close, but in the end Texas will win. Sgt. Ryan
Texas is going to have its hands full with the Sooner receivers. Few even know about them, but Malcom Kelly is one of the best Wr in college football, and Whorn DBs will be having nightmares about him after the game. OU will use the pass to set up the run, as that is what they came out with in the 2nd half vs Oregon, and Peterson had another field day in the 4th quarter, with the S back in coverage most of that time fearing the over the top pass to Kelly. OU has shown to be soft in the middle of that defense, but that was vs more experienced Qbs who actually had a chance to complete a ball down the field. OU gets it together this week, and wins going away, like they should have done vs Oregon. Only difference is, I dont see the Big 12 officials giving the game to texas late, so Ill be a happy camper Saturday afternoon.

GWPFFL BrianW
couldnt agree more perch. Some Aggie fan the other day tried to tell me there program was on the same level of prestige as texas, oklahoma, and nebraska. I found that to be a complete joke. I'll agree with you that Malcom Kelly is way under-rated, but with the exception of Kelly and Peterson, the OU offense isn't that impressive. With Brown covering Kelly with help over the top, Kelly can be contained. With the problems OU has had with their O-line, I don't see Peterson having many holes up the middle to run through. Texas LB's are extremely fast, and should be able to contain him on the edge. Don't get me wrong, Peterson will have a decent game, but it will not be a great game. I have a feeling that we will be seeing a lot of the 279lb Henry Melton rushing up the middle for 4 yards at a time against that soft OU interior. I dont see a 225 yard rushing game from Peterson like 2 yrs ago, but it wouldnt surprise me if he did it. Derrick Johnson is the fastest LB I remember to play for Texas, and he couldnt contain Peterson outside. I dont see this crew doing it either. Brown cant cover Kelly. Brown went to my high school alma matter and I watched him play for 4 yrs, and he gets killed by speed, plus he is undersized and Kelly is an athletic 6'4 with speed and jumping ability. Had Brown played vs OSU, you wouldnt even mention his name in this post. Many have forgetten how torched he got last yr in the Rose Bowl, and Stoops is licking his chops at that matchup. Many are not giving the other Wr Iglasis, nor the Qb Thompson the credit they deserve. You double Kelly, Iglasis burns you. Thompson has been near flawless outside of 2 batted balls that went for INT, and one other where he threw into double coverage, a no no. This OL is also very under rated. Sure they make bonehead false start penalties like freshman and sophmore usually do, but they road grade for Peterson as the game goes on. I love this matchup. Texas is coming off a NC, with a rookie QB, a coach sitting on his perch and a OC that will be as conservative as ever . Charles and Melton will get yards on this OU defense, but OU buckles down after the 1st quarter, and Peterson wears the oppostition out in the 2nd half. My prediction. OU 27 - Texas 17. GWPFFL BrianW
It'll be interesting, cuz Texas hasn't been tested other than getting beat by Ohio State at home, Oklahoma should be undefeated right now after getting jobbed in Eugene. I think OU's defense is better than it has shown so far. It's all on Paul Thompson for them. Texas will load up the box to stop AD, Thompson needs to make plays it's that simple. Gonkis
Recent history shows Texas has been owned by OU. from ESPN: 43-2: As for the biggest game in the Big 12 this week -- Oklahoma vs. Texas -- the Longhorns are 43-2 since 2000 against conference teams other than the Sooners. Those two losses have come by a total of six points. 1-5: In the same span, the Longhorns are 1-5 against OU, with the five losses coming by a total of 135 points. 5 losses by a total of 135 points in 6 years. That's silly. That's gotta be coaching.
Glabra
Despite UT being the more talented team, I think OU will get the win. Stoops has had Mack's number, with the exception of last year when Vince was Superman. Superman's gone now and Stoops will exploit the coaching differential for the narrow win. Perchoutofwater
I just heard that one of the smartest payers on the A&M roster is going to trasfer to OU. GWPFFL BrianW
I'm just trying to figure out why an Aggie fan would actually insist on saying that A & M is on the same level of prestige as Oklahoma, Texas, or Nebraska. That's like me saying Iowa is on the same level of prestige as Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State.
sacosud
I'll take OU in this one. I like Peterson and Thompson to get it done. Texas has been on cruise control since the OSU game and Colt is not ready for this type of game. Texas really has not been challenged at all except OSU. I do think alot depends on Stoop's defense. Stoops is from Big Ten country and his defense reminds me alot of OSU. I gurantee Stoops has watched the OSU vs. Texas game alot in the last week and should see the same kind of defensive scheme. I do think it will be under 10, but OU walks away the winner. OU 28 Texas

theprofessor
Texas exploits Oklahoma's soft interior defense, just like Washington and Oregon did, but the Sooners keeps it close with a 14-point fourth quarter.
