Easy n Dirty
Like most of not all survivors so far, I've already used New England, Dallas, and Seattle, among others. Here are the remaining options: 1. Giants, favored by 9, hosting 49ers - I like this one alot and it's my most likely pick. One downside - Giants might be a nice pick next week when they get the Dolphins, although that game is in London and perhaps should be avoided at all costs anyway. 2. Redskins, favored by 8-1/2 hosting the Cardinals - I like this one alot if Tim Rattay is back there, but for one of the two pools I'm in, the pick is due at noon today. I still like it though, seems the likelihood of Warner playing is slim. Skins look good again in week 9 (at Jets, although I'm gonna' have trouble picking against the J-E-T-S Jets). Skins also host the bills in week 13, but that might be a matter of looking too far ahead, I gotta' get to week 13 first. 3. Saints favored by 9, hosting the Falcons - for the life of me I cannot figure out why the Saints would be favored by 9 over anybody, I'm not picking this one. 4. Bengals, favored by 6-1/2 hosting the Jets - Bengals seem likely to get out of the rut this weekend against the hapless Jets, and their paper defense may not even hurt them too much against Chad and company - I just have trouble picking against the Jets, who I'd like to be able to root for on Sunday. Bengals also look reasonably good in week 9 (at the Bills). Weeks 8 and 9 currently look kinda' troublesome, candidates in week 8 are Giants ag/ Dolphins (in London), Titans hosting Raiders (only if Young is healthy I'd say), Chargers hosting Texans. Week 9 possibles are Bucs hosting Cards, Bengals at Buffalo, Jags at Saints, Skins at Jets, Texans at Raiders. I just need to pick one outright winner, I'm showing spreads above because that's how I usually first identify possible candidates each week. Whaddya' think? Sam
Gotta go with the Giants IMO. Although you wouldn't get much argument out of me if you went with the Skins. One thing I learned when doing these survivor pools is to never look ahead. Pick the team you like best the current week and worry about next week when it comes. Good luck. Gdawg
I'd go with the Redskins or the Giants, both should win fairly handily. Good luck!
Eagle2003
I wouldn't touch the skins this week, it could be a let down week for the skins. ARI has been decent against the run and that would force J Campell to win it for them, not in love with the idea. I would take the Giants all day long in their matchup. They play Miami next week, though it is in London on a neutral site, so I don't trust picking the GIants next week, so use them up.

ARZ will not beat the Redskins in Washington with Tim Rattay at the helm, they also have some injury problems at LB. Good point about the NYG however. Delicious_bass
I have the New York football Giants as my pick. As others have said, I cant really see AZ winning in WAS behind Rattay, either. I would think you'd be ok with either of them.
kingfish247
3. Saints favored by 9, hosting the Falcons - for the life of me I cannot figure out why the Saints would be favored by 9 over anybody, I'm not picking this one. ATS is one thing. Yeah I might not lay money on the Saints -9 but to win straight up? They dominated Seattle in Seattle and go back home to face the Falcons who are averaging a hair over 7 ppg on the road and are on a new, and arguably, crappier QB. This is a trend pick... the Saints look to be on their way up, while the Falcons have yet to hit rock bottom (which is saying a lot). EDIT: NYG is probably the way to go b/c looking at their schedule, this is likely the last time I'd take them in a Survivor pool until maybe week 16. I'm just saying that IMO, NO and the Giants both have similar situations this week... both face struggling teams on the road. The main difference being that Atlanta has no offensive weapons while Gore could do some damage for SF. Piranha
Skins, Giants, in that order.
Chief Seattle
I agree with Giants as well. I saw on NFL network that the Giants have given up only 2 TD'd and 2 FG's in the past 14 quarters, SF 0-3 after bye weeks, Manning has a TD pass in 36/39 starts, and SF has scored 1 TD in two games. Sounds pretty good to me. Also if you could consider NE, Dallas, Cincy or Seattle, Wash, and Giants how do you rank them?
pygmypony
well, i took the giants in my survivor as well, after seriously debating between them and the skins. as a giant fan, i felt a little uneasy over this because of the trap potential, 4 game win streak, coming off short week after monday in atl, heading to london next week. strahan even spoke about this a bit in his interview after the mnf game when he was clearly auditioning for his next job. anyway, as i said, despite my misgivings, i still picked the giants. so now, this weekend, i will have my three football personalities colliding: * lifelong giant fan * eli as my fantasy football starter * giants as my survivor pick and oh yeah, here's the real kick in the pants - i have tickets for the game and can't go....too many other family things brewing... Leave it to a Giants fan to have a hard time picking them to win. I too am a lifelong Giant fan and am worried about choosing them in my survivor pool this week. They have a propensity to selfdestruct at the worst possible times. This week worries me a bit for the reasons mentioned above, but if they have ever had me convinced they would emerge victorious, it's at home against SF who is starting their backup QB when the Giants' D has been running wild. I choo-choo-choose them...with a picture of a train. I like the Skins as my lock of the week. Oooohhhh, that's a really big lock. Two Simpsons references there for you. frenzal rhomb
I still have Seattle left - what do you guys think of them home against the Rams??
doctor_stoppage
I like the Skins as my lock of the week. I mostly agree with you, but isn't anyone worried about the Redskins missing, what, 5 offensive lineman now? Aren't they being forced to start some guy who is a defensive lineman this week? Front Row
I used the Gmen last week, I think they roll this week also. I liked the Ravens and the Steelers early this week , but with all the lock talk about the skins around here .... Pope Flick
I ALWAYS try to avoid divisional games when I make my survivor picks, but the Saints might be too good to pass up. They NEED this win, came together on the road and their D should feast on Byron Leftwich's scrambling ability. I'd only feel lucky if I picked the skins this week and won with them, although I like them better than the NYG who still feel streaky (although yes the Saints are worse) who play a team coming off a Bye. Also, the NYG/SF games have been a little willy nilly the past few years and I try to avoid funkfests like those as well.

I liked the Ravens and the Steelers early this week , but with all the lock talk about the skins around here .... I see a lot of people projecting for a Bills upset. The Ravens scored only one touchdown last week against St. Louis. They started in Ram territory on probably half their drives and they only got it in once? Buffalo's two blowout losses came against PIT and NE, both road games. Beyond that, they've lost two games by one point, including one against Dallas, and won one by 3. Game is in BUF. Stay away. The only road game PIT has won was against Cleveland in week 1. Then they lost in Arizona week 4. Be wary of them playing in Denver. The three games I picked out this week were NYG over SF, WAS over ARI, and SEA over STL, probably in that order.
SheikYerbuti
My pool is down to 3, and I'm making a cardinal error this week. I'm making my pick based on next week. I LOVE the G-Men against Miami, so I'm taking the Saints this week. Atlanta is just a mess right now.
