Owens get's into it

Thought I'd be as sensational as the regular media. But if you are drafting IDP's Mcgee's injury could give you pause. We might not know much about while they aren't required to report them in ota's.

I suspect it's minor.

Sad part of the year if this is news. TO and a defender both go for a ball in practice and fall on each other while struggling to get possession of the ball. Defender gets hurt and it makes the news. It's not like they were fighting, though the title of the topic seems to imply it.

Change the title of the thread.

Or not, it's a joke with valid info and a satyrical representation of the way media blows things out of proportion and twists the truth.

Wait a darned minute! I was absolutely assured by some here that Owens would take Hardy under his wing and be a sparkling example of how a consumate pro WR should be... You know - showing up for all work outs, voluntary or not. Getting to BUF to work with his QBs on timing and getting to know his teammates by working out at the team facility. Supporting team mates on both sides of the ball. That kind of stuff...

You know what guys, I like Owen's. He stays late and helps his QB and other players get better. He practices harder then anyone on the field and gives you everything he's got on Sundays. AND He Want's the ball all the time. He has a mouth issue but hey most Star recievers do when they aren't getting the ball And their team is losing. I have very little problems with the guy other then the fact he has Media Mouth and the Media is his magnetic South. Other then that, the guy make's every team he plays for better at the WR position and helps Offenses be more dangerous with him on the field. Dallas is NOT better on the field without him but may be better off the field as the circus moves out to Buffalo. I think the guy got a bad rap and rep and the Media will never let him off the hook as result. Otther then that, they guy is just a great football player and any team will be better at his position with him then without him.

I bet Lee Evans has a Monster year if he stays healthy.

I tend to agree. He's a real jack ass off the field and a real glory hound but you can't deny his work ethic and desire to win.

Bills: Edwards puts in extra time

05/28/09 09:23 AM

THE NEWS

Trent Edwards put in an extra 20 minutes of practice time Wednesday to work on timing with new receiver Terrell Owens and speed demon Lee Evans, according to the Buffalo News. Edwards said, "I feel like we are ahead of where we were last year because those guys are here, they are working out and that is nice for a quarterback, where I can see guys."

I believe his own personal aggrandizement supercedes his desire to win. He has shown time & time again that he will divide a team, throw team mates under the bus, and throw tantrums when he doesn't get enough balls thrown his way. Desire to win means that sometimes you shut your mouth if you can't manage to say something that might lift team mates up or make a positive contribution, and that sacrifice of personal numbers can actually benefit the team as a whole.

I fully support his superb athleticism and his ability as a WR - he's top 5 in NFL history by those standards. But that doesn't translate directly to desire to win - which I absolutely deny. His desire goes as far as his own glory. If it benefits the team, great. If it hurts the team? Tough ####.

As usual, BB sums it up nicely. Talented player, but, I'm sick of hearing that all he wants to do is win, when there is so much evidence to the contrary.

Did TO run over your dog or something? All I hear from you about him is that he sucks as a person and is a worthless team mate. I could care less about him personally, I think he might help the Bills. If he does great, if not we at least the team tried to do something about there 9 year playoff drought. At this point he can only help the Bills win more games. Because they can lose them with out him and that has already been proven to everyone.

All I want the Man to do is catch touchdowns, and he seems pretty good at that.

I understand your points here, and I don't blame you for feeling that way. However, as an outsider, I find the pattern funny. Fans of the teams that get him, love having him. Fans of the teams that he left, who used to talk lovingly of him, now hate him (usually). Rinse. Repeat.

I actively don't like TO. He pisses me off when I think of what he could have been. I hate to see a guy with his incredible talent be such a detriment to his team - and make no mistake, he was absolutely a detriment everywhere he has been. Except now, he's starting to drop a lot of footballs and isn't as dominant as his age catches up with him. The incredulous talent used to mitigate the damage he does to teams to a large extent (but not entirely). Now, not so much anymore.

As far as what kind of person he is off the field - I don't like that either, but I can separate it from his work on the field. It seems to me that if anyone has an irrational stake in this, it would be you. You're expecting TO to suddenly be a different person simply because he's wearing a Bills' uniform, and you're intolerant of any criticism simply because he is a Bill now. Good luck with that.

I did not say I liked him because he was a Bill, I like what he can do for the Bills. I never expected him to be diffrent, I just thought he would give the Bills some swagger as a team. With Jaron at the helm it's like eating PB & J ever day of your life. As a Bills fan I'm excited with possiblity's he comes with, but also scared of other things that come in tow with him.

I have no doubt TO's lime light is fading, but Buffalo is small enough for a dim TO to still feel like a star. Plus if he preformes well and teams stars winning, it will because of him, that should feed his ego for 12 to 13 games...lol.

I understand completely. I have a very close friend who is a Bills' fan and it is painful to watch his suffering every season. Any change brings new hope.

We will have enough threads about him when he really does something wrong. No need for fake sensationalized ones. I will miss his production on the field but I also feel now the sense of relief Philly fans felt when the headache was gone. The guy is a monster on the field though. He put up fat numbers in big D.

I don't/won't miss the circus during the week but I fear I'll miss him on Sunday afternoons. We'll see..

Another vote on the side of, "sure he works hard but that doesn't mean he just wants to win". At very least, I don't think he understands what a team needs to win, because it certainly doesn't need somebody being a cancer. I too, am sick of the excuses claiming it's all passion. Sure, maybe the guy is passionate but if he can't guide that passion towards something good for the team, what good is it?

Have we already forgotten him complaining about not getting the ball after a Cowboys game when he got about as many looks as a WR is ever going to get? I don't know of a quicker way to lose your teammates or coaches.

If you truly want to win, you work to uplift your team the best you can. If it becomes apparent that the guys around you simply don't cut it, then move on and find some who do. But that's not what he's done. Hell, he and Philly made the SB. Keep in mind, as good a year as he had, the team actually made it through the play-offs without him, so it's not like it was all about him (at least in reality). They lost a close game to the most dominant team of recent years and what does he do to build on that? Talks crap about his QB and forces his way to another team.

So explain how blowing up a team that you just went to the SB with means you just want to win. A team who's biggest need just happened to be a dominant WR. It just doesn't make sense. Maybe to him, but that matters about not at all if whatever you're trying isn't working. And trying to win by being an a cancer on every team he's played on, well it isn't working.

I'm not sure anyone gets it. It's a thread about Terrance Mcgee getting hurt. But nobdy gives a crap about McGee. So the press (me in this play) wraps it up in the bacony goodness of TO. So everybody can drink it up...I...drink...your...TO...I DRINK IT UP!!!

It's what the media does to feed the fan monster. They can't feed us healthy veggies, we won't take it. So they give us sensation, but I stuck a apple in the middle for some worth. Especially with dynasty and IDP leagues drafting McGee.

TO skipped a voluntary workout cause he wanted to/received an award for charity work. ESPN busts a nut all over themselves to cover the demon. Now he shows up, still voluntary, and nobody, including the beast of Connecticut, gives a crud.
