Grits and Shins
Two weeks in a row the PIT defense has absolutely dominated ... this week it looks like they will shut Chris Johnson down. Is it time to bench ANY RB against the PIT defense regardless of stud status?
buddahj
CJ did have a long TD run called back because of a penalty.
Swiss Cheezhead
CJ did have a long TD run called back because of a penalty. Which means he wasn't able to break any long runs without his blockers holding?

gilthorp
127 yards of total offense for the Steelers in this one. They need the ladies man back.
Skippy
127 yards of total offense for the Steelers in this one. They need the ladies man back. This is true. Two weeks in a row this defense has completely dominated a game. Steeler Defense 2-0 Steeler Offense along for the ride.
Menudo
This is saying a lot, considering the good defenses the Steelers have had, but, they've never had a better defensive start to a season. Lawrence Timmons has developed into an absolute beast. Harrison continues to play awesome, and I don't have the words to describe how important Polamalu is to this team. Essentially, they got the lead today, and went into ultra-conservative mode and put the trust in their defense. I was o.k. with it as a Steelers fan, but, it annoyed me as a Ward & Wallace owner. I didn't expect a win today, but, I am thrilled that they are sitting at 2-0. I would think twice about starting a RB against the Steelers this year. jjpro11
you think they're good now, wait until the Steelers get Ben back and can actually sustain some drives on offense and give the defense some rest. it was 95 degrees in Nashville today and it seemed like the defense was on the field all day. players were cramping up all game long, yet they were able to sub guys in and not miss a beat. James Harrison's sack and forced fumble came with a front 3 consisting of Nick Eason, Steve McLendon, and Ziggy Hood.. two second string DEs and a third string DT, who I didn't even know was a Steeler until that play. really though, nobody should be surprised. they are healthy and are returning their entire defense from 2008 (Larry Foote and Bryant McFadden came back this offseason). last season they didn't have Polamalu and Aaron Smith for nearly the entire season. they also started William Gay at CB, who was burned constantly. he is a solid nickel/dime CB, but can't handle covering guys 1-on-1 on the outside. as mentioned above, Lawrence Timmons has become a stud LB. he very well may be the fastest and most athletic LB in the game today. darin3
LOL @ all this Steelerbatin'. They had a FG trading session with an average Falcon team last week and then squeaked by a Kerry Collins led Titan team. Congrats. Let's see what happens when they play a real team. Someone always would start a "D run" with them, and finally this year they just sort of fell to me in later rounds. Whatever the reason people were turned off by the Pitt D I really don't care other than to say thank you for the sweet value pick.

LOL - playing with their 4th string QB. The entire line on both sides of the ball are in the hospital playing the last two weeks against top ten defense according to last years figures. Yes, I am very content with waiting for them to play a "real" team. One thing is for certain the D looks to be without a doubt the best in the league....right now. bpwallace49
ASYS . . . doesnt the Steelers defense count as a "stud"? So it is stud against stud?

This has to be bait. I know I wear homer glasses but this defense is playing so great right now that this lifelong Steeler fan is having flashbacks of some great old glory days. Troy is a beast. I hope his dive over the line is on youtube somewhere. That is a play in and of itself that will live in history. Yep, I have my homer glasses on. Avernus
I think when Ben comes back and they score more points, the other teams will have to throw more which could either ease up on any potential runs if it becomes more of an open game than what we are seeing here... their offense will force opposing offenses to take more chances rather than what we saw the last 2 weeks - their D is obviously strong, but I'm not sure they are THIS good...
