Easy n Dirty
How are AJ owners feeling about this weekend? Johnson is still suffering from a high ankle sprain reportedly, which has forced him to miss some plays each of the past two weeks. I know he returned in week 2 after the injury and scored the tying touchdown, but I think I read somewhere that he did miss some time in the week 3 game against Dallas. And now he missed practice Wednesday, last I saw was that Kubiak said he might be a gametime decision, although Johnson assures the media that he intends to play. Compounding all of this is that he will likely draw Ashomuga this weekend against the Raiders. Any Johnson owners thinking of benching him? And if so, for whom? I would never bench him just because of the Ashomuga matchup, but given the bad ankle I'm thinking of it. The real risk to me is the danger of getting a zero out of my WR1 position as it seems very possible that we won't know his status when lineups are due at 1PM. I'm kinda hoping the Texans decide to give him a week off and announce it beforehand - would give him a chance to get fully healthy and would obviously make my decision much easier. No Quarter
I think it is going to come down to a Sunday morning call for me. If he's playing he's starting for me because I am running out of players this week. I have Rice, Best, A.J. and Murphy banged up and am starting to wonder if I can fill all the starting slots with players that are actually playing this week.! Swashbucklers
Hopefully the word comes early whether he is playing or not as my other options have 1:00 games. If it is still questionable at the kickoffs of the early games I may have to play Clayton and just hope he sits and comes back next week ready to go! champ48win
I spent the 5th overall pick on him, so I need him to take a week off and get healthy.

Mello
Ashomuga + injury concerns will probably mean I bench him. I only own him in a 8 team league though so I have the depth to start Floyd instead of him. In a deeper league, I'd probably wait until Sunday morning and only bench him if the news on him didn't sound good.
devi0us
I benched him in all 3 leagues...replaced him with Jacoby Jones, James Jones and Louis Murphy in the leagues...high ankle sprain and Asomugha = Bench Status.
Akfatha
best wr in the game will never get the bench from me so long as hes saying 'i intend to play' kubiak has clearly said, this season already, if andre feels he can go he'll go. ill start him til he says hes not playing. wpayers
ASYS is fading as time goes by. Too many other "decent" options in most leagues (12 teams). Rice, AJ, PT and MJD are all iffy this week. Why take the risk? Get some points from other reliable, albeit mid level, players. I'm starting SMoss in place of AJ this week. Thews40
I'm benching him for Jacoby Jones... what are the odds even if he's healthy? In that I mean that JJ could easily snag a TD and if AJ is hurt it's the safe bet.
ajh2
I you can get Walter or Murphy, grab them. Even if AJ plays, he may not produce enough to be startable, less than 50 receiving yards. Walter may be the big benficiary of this situation if AJ starts because he may becone the primary target. Murphy has the HOU's weak secondary to content with. Either option - CYA. Hope that AJ plays and is truly healhty or healthy enough to start allowing Wlater to have a big day.

nogohawk
Exactly the same situation that I am in - as of now, I'm thinking that Clayton is in for me. I have to chose between Knox & TO - probably a GTD for me too
Easy n Dirty
Latest news I've seen out of Houston is that Johnson will definitely be a game time decision. My lineup is due at 1PM, and I do not want to run the risk of getting a zero at that position, so barring any further news, Clayton gets the nod...although tonorator makes a good point above, the benching here is based on injury, not on matchups or anything like that, so this really isn't an ASYS discussion. theeohiostate
Andre Johnson (ankle) missed his third straight day of practice Friday and is listed as questionable for Week 4.Johnson did do some running on the side, but players that don't do any practicing throughout the week like A.J. rarely are active on game days. Because his matchup with Oakland is already difficult, owners should only wait on Johnson in a 4:05ET start if they have Kevin Walter or Jacoby Jones handy. The Texans are considering holding Johnson out of the game. I think they should and will sit him. Best WR in the league, can't risk a season for one game against an opponent they can beat with Foster, Jones and Walter. Muriel23
I'm in the same boat. I think I'm benching him for either Knox or Jacoby Jones. Can't decide which yet, but I'm not gonna gamble on him. Even if he does play, there is a big chance of him leaving the game early. Which could mean a goose egg. I'm not willing to take that risk. Marshy
Hasn't practised all week, and a late game compared to my other WR's so i can't risk it. Sticking Clayton in his place, hope it pays off.
