jkelly17
Much better situation for him fantasy wise instead of going to the 49ers. Would've liked to see him in a Pats jersey though.
detlef
Well that makes the decision not to drop Decker and pick Bradford off the scrap-heap look pretty good.
flemingd
This probably is a better long-term than immediate help for Bradford, but it's a great move nonetheless. Now they can cut MSW and Gibson, let the rookies learn from the slot, and ease Clayton back in as much as he's able.
Mrom
So who is the reciever to get for Denver? Thomas or Royal?

MrTed46
Nice that I held on to Decker for the past 3 weeks.....looks like he just panned out. As long as he can handle the extra assignment that he is going to get from defenses.

MTSuper7
I saw the Huddle pimping Mark Clayton as a sneaky pickup for his anticipated return. Does Lloyd's arrival effectively eliminate a need to give Clayton a look now?
i_am_the_swammi
It'll be very interesting to see how things pan out in St. Louis. Alexander, barring another injury, has beast-like qualities...be interesting to see if he gets the starting nod opposite Lloyd, how Gibson fits in, if Clayton is healthy....lots of fantasy questions to be answered. Bradford has to be thrilled he has a bonafide go-to option....and Jackson will be doing cartwheels if this finally gets 8 men out of the box. flemingd
Granted, but it certainly can't hurt right away. Absolutely. It will just take some time for them to get into synch - maybe later in the season, but I think the real connection happens next week. For now, better than Gibson by a mile
Seahawks21
I saw the Huddle pimping Mark Clayton as a sneaky pickup for his anticipated return. Does Lloyd's arrival effectively eliminate a need to give Clayton a look now? I wouldn't be so quick. Bradford and Clayton had a little juice between them. Lloyd isn't a guy that creates a ton of separation, so it may take Bradford a while to learn when he can or cannot throw the ball to Lloyd, and where to put it, especially in the red zone. He may just revert back to the comfort he has with Clayton.

delusions of grandeur
So who is the reciever to get for Denver? Thomas or Royal? It was said by the Huddle guys here at the beginning of the season that there was only room for 2 fantasy relevant WRs in Denver... I'd say that with Tebow starting, that really only leaves room for 1 fantasy relevant WR (and that's not even meant to be a knock on Tebow, just that his playing style is more likely to benefit his owners than owners of his WRs, regardless of if he's that sucessful or not)... And that's assuming he even hits Decker on a consistent enough basis. It also seems possible that all the WRs largely cancel eachother out, with no one having a ton of value.. keithheiman
I have Brandon Lloyd on my squad, and while I'm happy about the trade, I also have Steven Jackson on my roster. I typically like to avoid situations of having a RB and WR from the same NFL team. I might try and trade Lloyd while his value is high now, I don't think he'll contribute immediately to the struggling Rams. Thoughts on this decision or should I hold off? flemingd
Lloyd for a 6th is robbery. Even if it's a 5th someone should be jailed, shot, or run out of town.
WashingtonD
Brandon Lloyd's career 03-05 average - borderline fantasy starter in deep leagues in 05 06-09 - sucked 10 - Miracle year 11 to retirement - average to sucktitude (edit) I'll fully admit that I'm biased because of how much he sucked while on the redskins Edited October 17, 2011 by WashingtonD

People always say this when they see that a talented player is traded away for basically nothing, but really, how much is it worth to nab an aging WR for 1/2 season (where he'll be learning the offense), and you have to take on his contract and have him be a free-agent at the end of the year? People too often just look at the player's "value" compared to a 6th round pick that probably won't pan out, but when you look at it from the business side, he's not worth a ton when you still have to pay his salary and maybe even lose him before your team gets back to being competitive. (ETA: and as Opie said, sometimes you just have to take what you can get when you're not really dealing from a position of strength mid-season) Edited October 17, 2011 by delusions of granduer

Dude, any of us who've been playing FF long enough could list off dozens of guys who were one-year wonders. Why should we automatically assume otherwise in this case? I agree with you entirely. It's a situation to neither target nor avoid. Essentially it is a non-factor. That's not ot say to not shop him around, just that your reason should be something other than he is on the same team as one of your RBs. If he is the WR on your squad you think will score in the top X number of WRs on your squad, where X is the number of starters in your lineup, you're going to start him regardless of his team. If you think he isn't going to score in the top X number of WRs on your team, you bench him, regardless of team.

Add on the fact that the Rams might only be renting him for 10 miserable weeks, and he then moves on as a free agent....i think a 6th might actually be overpaying for him Now, if he was going to a contender as an improtant part of their offense in an effort to make a push for the playoffs...then yeah, a 6th to rent a guy sounds about right.
