Ted the Bellhop
I'll be San Antonio watching my Spartans take it to Nebraska in the Alamo Bowl. I'll be in town for about 3 days, anything I should see (besides the Alamo, of course)? Anybody else going to a Bowl game?
BS Miscreant
The Outback Bowl here in Tampa. Not really a fan of either team but in recent years the games have been excellent. I imagine due to the SEC/Big Ten match-up.
Coffeeman
As I have bemoaned the fact already on here, I'm trying to get 2 tix to the Rose, but no luck so far. You must be a long-time season tix holder or a big donor, and apparently my $60-80/each year to the USC B-school doesn't cut it. I think the "Cardinal & Gold" club is about $2000/year - too rich for my blood... But the father-in-law just called last night and said he's working on the only angle we have - he's longtime friends with the equipment guy for the team. Wish me luck... There's plenty up for grabs there. You'll have to pay a bit more than face but if you want 'em they're there.
Coffeeman
Ebay = well over $400 each unless you want nosebleed. My ceiling was closer to $250. I guess I could kick the wife out of the house and put her back to work so we can attend bowl games over the next few years. Lord knows USC will be in many of them.... I was at last years game and I'll be going to Nashville this year for another Badger win. Besides the riverwalk and the missions, not much to see or do in San Antonio. link to San Antonio info

Coffeeman
Ha ha - good one Kevin! But it is a big dilemma for any parents who take their "real job" seriously - that is, putting balanced, respectful and successful kids into the world. Not really asking for much - just young adults that don't commit serious crimes and don't go on welfare. The extra $ is good, but having the kids raised by someone else (who barely speaks English) is bad. For those of you without kids, you are off the hook, for now... KevinL
I totally agree with the value of a parent being home with the kids, just had to poke a little fun at you! Here in Ohio at least the day care workers do speak English. I'm divorced but my ex's lawyer was so much better than mine that my kids still only go to day care 2 days / week. Coffeeman
Kevin - if she didn't work before, that means that you really ended up paying for both lawyers, right?! That system is f*ed up MUCH worse than the BCS.....
