We will start RFA on Sunday, April 28th at 12:01 AM ET since we are already this close to the draft. It will give us plenty of time to do the RFA before our rookie draft. (Which begins on May 17th at 6 PM ET) RFA begins on April 28th and extends through May 11th 11:59 PM ET Starting next year we will try something new for all the leagues for franchise player all bids will be 24 hours instead of 48 and we will do our RFA earlier and close it before the NFL Draft begins. (Assuming we are not spending time finding new owners once again next year) (This league got a late start since we had to find 3 new owners)

We're a little off topic and probably better for tailgate but since it's off season and it's just us discussing... I have been on various tracks from small local types to sanctioned tracks and proving grounds. The celebrity stupidity is relatively rare compared to the daily stupidity of many drivers. I have been personally told once or thrice to "take it to the track;" always by people who have never been on a track. It is a much different experience. For a bike, I would think it would allow someone to climb near the limits in a safer environment and it's somewhat self selective. You're not going to have a kid on a busa beside a retiree on a Goldwing. Also, you definitely don't go to a good, sanctioned track and just show up and have fun. There is a lot of liability on their end. If someone is just doing that, they are at least getting safety training and it means someone did a lot of legwork for them. Cars are also usually limited by classes so you don't have a 911 turbo with an experienced driver dealing with a novice in their 350z. And if you do, there is often a no passing rule or the novice has an instructor with them (not a free service mind you). Lastly, that track day is just that, a day or even two. Besides the minimum half day you're in briefing or on track, you have to get there and home (trailer the car, or carry and change wheels/tires or plan to burn up your street tires). Conversely, many of us like to meet in groups and then go hit the streets for a little enjoyment. We're the crazy people flying down "back roads." But those of us who do this occasionally also know which roads are relatively clear and free of risk such as other vehicles, bicycles, houses or pedestrians. It eats a few hours at most and we're not pushing the cars the way we would on a track, so far less wear on tires and brakes. Is it legal? No. Is it safe? That's relative although we'd all agree it's less safe than normal driving. And then, sometimes one just gets a hair up their ass and opens it up on the interstate. Same thing, not safe but hopefully the driver knows what their limits are and avoids others. The guys that make the news are usually the 20 somethings who don't know their limits nor their car's limits and do things in traffic.

LS is back to even in payments. MonkeyOne sent me $55 via Paypal and I paid $45 into LS for his account. This makes up for the $10 extra I had to pay for MFL raising the entry fee. So I ended up paying $5 for my LS entry fee + $60 MFL fee total $65 then paid myself back $10 from MonkeyOne entry fee to equal $55 for my entry fee.

Last week for the first time in the 2 years we have dealt with covid did we see this scenario play out a guy who was fine going into Sunday hit the covid list on Monday when it was clearly too late for you to do anything about it. Higbee was that guy and if you didn't post a backup player you took a zero. This is why we have had this option all year to give piece of mind and it has never been used. This week we have seen 3 games moved to Monday and Tuesday and now have 8 teams that will play once most of our lineup has already gone so unless you have a direct backup that also plays on Monday or Tuesday you may get stuck if a guy hits covid Monday or Tuesday from those games. Since we have 8 teams playing now on Monday and Tuesday you can list backups for them all and we will hope none of it needs used. If you have multiple guys playing Mon/Tue you can list the backups in order 1-2 say you have 2 guys on Mon/Tue so if you wanted to use that top backup 1st for either guy you can. Example Cook and Metcalf playing Mon/Tue with backups 1) Jeudy 2) AJ Green So if Cook or Metcalf were covid you would get Jeudy and if both are covid you would get both. This only works if you can flex in the guy in this situation. You still have the option to do a 24 hour rule covid pick up should you have no one available or announced as a backup player from the FA's. If your backup player plays on Saturday NE/IND you must post before 8:15 PM ET Saturday. For all other backup players you must post before 1 PM ET Sunday. If you do make a Saturday post please do not edit that post after 8:15 PM ET make a 2nd new post if your doing more backup players for Sunday if you don't include them on the Saturday post. All posts become void should you edit them after the deadlines. The player must be on your roster at time of post for them to be used as a backup player. (You can't say your backup player is a guy not on your current roster at time of post) You can put a DTS guy as a backup but know you will have to activate him and give him a contract if you do such a thing and he is used. Reminder that this will be for only if game is cancelled or if your player is knocked out by covid or close contact. If your player is inactive for other reasons you will not get your backup player. List your Monday/Tuesday starter followed back the replacement player

We have yet to have any players go on covid for Monday night after Sunday 1 PM kickoff but the amount of covid players has increased of late so if you have a backup player it is best to post it just in case. May 9th – RFA will begin on Saturday, May 9th at 12:01 AM ET Any new RFA auction thread must be posted in the forum by Wednesday, May 20 at 11:59 PM ET. May 21st - End of Restricted Free Agency (RFA) Period 12:00 AM EDT (All current auctions remain until finished) May 22nd, Friday 6 PM ET - Rookie Draft begins 6 Restricted Free Agency (RFA)Once a player's contract expires, he becomes a Restricted Free Agent (RFA). RFA begins on May 9th and closes at the end of the day at 11:59 PM ET on May 20th. No new auctions will be accepted after May 20th. Auction threads that are already in in-progress may continue beyond May 20th until a final offer is reached for a player. After the RFA signing period, any players that did not receive bids will remain on the current team's roster at no cost. 6.1 Bidding Process All RFA bids are made in the league forum and each bid must include the player's name and the amount bid at a minimum. It is also suggested that you include the current owning team as well. The suggested proper forum post thread subject title example is the following: "RFA bid - Randy Moss MIN WR - Current owner" or "RFA bid:Moss, Randy MIN WR - Current Owner". Owners may not raise their own high bids or bid on their own players. If an owner raises their own bid or bids on their own player that bid is cancelled and the previous bid stands. Once a bid is posted on a player, other interested owners may increase the bid. Owners may drop out of the bidding process for any individual player at any time unless they have the high bid. They may re-enter the process as long as bidding remains active for the player in question. It is every owner's responsibility to check in daily to see if any of their players have been bid on or is in the awaiting for match phase regardless if the original post contains all the required info. There are no do overs for a bid not having everything exactly correct in the original post. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO EDIT ANY BID ONCE YOU HAVE MADE IT. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO RAISE YOUR OWN BIDS. If you edit or raise your own bid the bid will be returned to the original bid which you will still be in play for but you will no longer to be able to bid on this RFA again if anyone else raises the bid. 6.2 Bid Closing / Matching Once a player has been initially bid on, after 24 hours of inactivity the player will be marked “Team has until xx time to match”. The current owner will then have 24 hours to match the highest bid placed and retain the player. If the bid is matched or 24 hours has passed without a match then the auction will be marked “Matched or Won”. Example if the last bid was at 3:17 PM ET the bid closes at 3:17 PM ET the next day (any bids made exactly 24 hours later do not count). You then have 24 hours to match your bid so once 3:18 PM ET the next day happen the bid has been won by the high bidder. (Weekends ARE included in the bidding process) and the player will be rewarded to either the highest RFA bidder or remain on the matching team. The RMC will administer these activities including updating each team's BB balance. If a thread on a player is closed early by mistake and you want to bid on the player you need to open a new thread to bid on the player noting that it was closed early. In this case the bid must be placed within 24 hours of the closed player last bid time stamp. 6.3 Overbidding Owners who place bids must have enough BB's available to cover all outstanding high bids. If an owner overbids their budget at any time, that bid will be removed from the board. The time stamp on the bid remains the previous bid for raising the bid purposes. The overbidding owner can no longer bid for said player. (This exclusion will remain even if overbidding owner makes a trade for more BB's.) All other bids placed by the offending owner will remain in effect. Anyone overbidding their BB balance will be penalized 3 BB's or receive 3 BB less in BB's per infraction when BB's are given out under rule 3.1. If multiple infractions are made all bids that were made while over their budget before the $3 BB penalty will be removed. If they have current bids on the board that leave them without proper funds should a team not match a player then they will go into negative balance for legal bids before going over budget caused by the $3 BB penalty. 6.4 Trading During RFA Period If the rights to a player currently on the board is traded, the current high bidder will have 24 hours to increase his/her bid one time, even if bidding is "CLOSED." If the bidding is "CLOSED", then only the current high bidder may bid. If bidding has not "CLOSED" for the traded player, then anyone may bid as before. The commish will post that a trade of a RFA has occurred and post the new time stamp for how long the high bidder has to raise their bid.In addition, if an owner receives BB's as a part of a trade because the owner did not have enough BB's to match all their current player bids, the current high bidder will have 24 hours to increase his/her bid one time, even if bidding is "CLOSED." If the bid is raised then the current owner will once again have 24 hours to match the bid from the time the bid is raised. If the bid is closed and the high bidder announces that it will not be raised the owner will have the remaining left time left to match the bid adding the dead time between the trade time and the announced time it won't be raised. The commish will post that a trade of a RFA has occurred and post the new time stamp for how long the high bidder has to raise their bid.
