That's for sure. My only concern is strong winds from the east so anything near 20 is good game weather.

So much talk about bad footing on the field have you heard anything about laying sod or improving the field?

Weather.com has temps near 20 and a light 7MPH easterly wind but like you say it will change.

I heard no sod was being added, but for conference games the NFL somewhat takes over the conditioning, but not sure what that means. I read that in the Trib.

What is interesting to me is that eight out of the ten playoff games, so far this year, have been re-match games... where the two teams already met in the regular season. The only two exceptions were the Jets-Colts and Ravens-Chiefs. If the Pack and Jets advance this weekend, it will be nine out of eleven. That seems pretty far from the norm, no?

I picked the Pack to reach the SB at the beginning of the year. I have to admit, though... when they started having key players drop like flies, I was questioning that pick. When the playoffs began, I stuck with it and expected a Pack-Patriots rematch. Now, I'm leaning towards the Pack and Jets, but none of the four possible combinations would surprise me, at this point. As others who follow NFC North teams have said, you'd have to be crazy to bet either way... Those (NFC North) games are very unpredictable, regardless of record and/or point spread. The teams seem to know each other well enough that what you would think would happen, rarely actually does.

The excitement for this game has been building all week. The more I think about this game on Sunday, the more I give the Bears to pull this one off. I still think the Packers are the now team, but the Bears are not going to lay over and die like Atlanta did. Success breeds success and Cutler is finally starting to get it. We still will see some Bad Jay I guess, but I think the gameplan will be to stop the running game at all costs and make Rodgers throw it 40+ times...when he does that, the Packers rarely, if ever win.

My gameplan would involve starting a second string DT and telling him to hammer Rodgers and drive him into the ground from the blindside long after the whistle.

Don't get your panties in a bunch, I doubt Lovie will be using my game plan.

And, BTW, it ill becomes you to whine about what I said when your team was perfectly happy to do exactly that.

radio guys were saying the exact same thing today. "Lets try and hurt Rodgers after the whistle early in the game."

maybe it is just me, but I never wish ill or injury on players. Especially in this matchup. Especially under these circumstances. i dont want any excuses on either side and hope everyone is healthy. That way a win is that much sweeter

The days of thuggery like the Packers exhibited in the past are over. Believe it or not, I trust Martz to have the perfect gameplan on offense, and the Packers are going to run out of patience on offense and will turn the ball over too often. Rodgers can not play any better than he did last week, and another game on the road, three weeks in a row - very tall task.

Why should we? So your main asset (your fast and skillful receivers) get a better footing? Don't think so.

The choice doesn't lie with the Bears. The NFL has the final say. The field may slightly favour chicago but Green Bay plays on a similar field in similar conditions. It's not going to be the deciding factor in the game.

Green Bay-21

Chicago-17

Thuggery? Leave it to a Bears' fan to whine about thuggery.

You could insert the word Bears for Packers and Cutler for Rodgers and mcCarthy for Martz and it would be the exact same post.

I would trust Rodgers to have two good games in a row more than I would trust Cutler.

I feel honoured that THE Smithjam even responded to a post of mine. Wow.

No complaints, just facts.

Agree with 1231's post to a certain extent...not saying Rodgers won't have a good game, he just peaked last week.

I have never been an optimistic fan, always realistic - never wanting to be let down. I give the Bears a great shot at winning tomorrow. Should be a game for the ages.
