PantherDave
Well with the big party last Sunday, we are going with finger foods all day Sunday. There will be a meat tray, veggie tray, fruit tray and cheese tray. That will pretty much be the fare, as Mrs. PD always saves the big party plastic trays from the grocery stores. We've got smoked turkey, roast beef, Proscutti ham, pepporoni, salami. There will be an assortment of cheese's, and fruit (pineapple, grapes, canteloupe, sliced apples, strawberries), and veggies(broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, celery, pickles). All day snacking, as we will make up the trays Sat Nite, and pop them in the fridge, oh, and yes-some shrimp cocktail around 6ish. Now some football.... I like the Panthers to take control of the NFCS this Sunday, as it seems the bye week was very benificial, and Fox has them clicking right now. Fantasy Jesus
This is my first time posting in your weekly "CrockPot" thread but I must admit I look forward to it every week. A very enjoyable read. I liked the oyster/clam bake thread you had a few weeks ago and I look forward to doing my own version very soon. This week I'll be making a 15 lb Crown Roast for me and the crew. Carrots, potatoes, celery, onions and mushrooms will fill out the tray. The Roast will be jammed will all kinds of seasoning especially cloves of garlic stuffed into strategic spots. Pork broth and chicken bullion will be the base for the gravy. Cooking time: 4 hrs The swine doesn't stand a chance. Shameless homer football prediction: Miami 24 Atlanta

The Holy Roller
Did someone say "Carrot"? (Go find that thread about the carrot if you haven't already). Thank you PD for doing this every week. I drool with anticipation of what fare you will be cooking up for Sunday. Mrs. PD must be quite a lady to let you put so much time ibn the kitchen, lol. And loaf, there are a lot of good cookbooks out there specifically for crockpots. They have some great ideas to at least get you pointed in the right direction. Of course when we use ours, we tend to adjust the recipes a bit to add more spice to the mix. Anyway, the party this week is at a friends house, and the food of the day will be a good. old fashioned burgers and dogs day on the grill. Of course it will be complete with all the normal picnic type food: potato salad, chips, beans, etc. Will be a good break for me cooking, since this new baby is wearing me out. Scooby
today i create the ultimate dip, so thick it breaks chips. The "Bob Armstrong" dip is a queso (with rotel left chunky) with lots of sour cream, guac, and a ground meat (i use venison or breakfast sausage). ingrediants are stirred together to evolve into the thickest queso imaginable. Chief Dick
Enjoy the Baby Back Rib Experience ya got coming your way-outstanding feed. 1126340[/snapback] Agree with this. Sometimes we make em in the crockpot when there is snow on the ground, and they come out real freaking good. Hey PD, have you ever done babybacks and used apple cider/apple juice as your liquid in the crockpot?

JoJoTheWebToedBoy
While I was in Seattle, I had some of the biggest Lobster Tails I've ever seen shipped home to Tucson (you would not believe what they sell down here) and a few pounds of jumbo shrimp. Tonight, as the late games are winding down, I thinking a couple of NY Strips, Lobster and shrimp on the grill.... Hope I can hold out that long..... If not, it will be one he!! of a lunch
Savage Beatings
Hey Panther Dave, yesterday my wife had to work all day, so I surprised her with your stew recipe from Week 7 (although I did thicken it up a little bit with a touch of flour, but otherwise I followed it pretty close). She LOVED it, and she let me know just how much she appreciated such a kick ass dinner. Thanks! wiegie
son-of-a-biitch Inspired by these threads in weeks past, I decided that this week I would make a roast in our crockpot. I went out yesterday and bought all of the necessary ingredients and was just about to throw them into the crock pot when... I realized that I loaned out our crockpot last weekend to some friends of ours who were hosting a Halloween party and we haven't gotten it back yet. :doah:
