Dude, please just look mediocre up in a dictionary. It will make me feel MUCH better. By the way, I am still waiting for the 10 teams that are better than the Steelers........

"His four-turnover performance against the Jaguars, which included a 41-yard interception return for a touchdown to end the game. And the reaction of some irate fans who threw objects in the yard of his suburban home after the game."

With Roethlisberger out, and Batch breaking his hand, I'd be worried about Tommy vs. Baltimore next week.

I am. However, with Batch out, I think Ben plays.

His knee IS worse than they say.  Tell me more Dr. CaptainHook.

anytime I hear "meniscus" when they talk about a knee injury, it always takes longer than they say it will. Staley, Boldin, Calico, D. Jackson. I don't think it is as bad as those, but I bet he misses at least next week. I think he tries to come back for the Indy game, but it will be close.

Well, the injury happened in the Tennessee game (the 1st game). Ben had to be talked into the surgery, as he wanted to just continue to play through the pain. That said, post-surgery, you could be right. If he is iffy, I'm guessing the Steelers try to get the win in Baltimore without him, but he WILL play against the Colts. You would have to chain him up to keep him from starting that game and proving how over-rated the horseshoes are. :D

I did, it said beating the 2005 Ravens at home by one point.    :D

Point proven. I see I am dealing with a brilliant fooball mind here. :D

P.S. Still waiting on the 10 teams that are better than the Steelers, thus moving them into the medicore category.

On local news they showed Ben using a crutch earlier in the week too. That cant be too good of a sign for him playing next week either.

He isn't using a crutch tonight on the sidelines and that is a good sign. But going from just starting to walk without a crutch and playing a game in approx 1 1/2 weeks doesn't sound like a great idea to me.

edited to add ...

I agree with captainand menudo in that I would find it hard to imagine him not being there vs the Colts.

Did it happen to say anything about beating the Chargers on the road, hammering a then 6-1 Bengal team on the road, and currently riding an 11 game winning streak on the road.......... :D

Since bushwhacked doesn't seem able, I'll take a whack at it (obviously, this ranking is based on a reasonably healthy Roethlisberger; without him, they slide down the food chain a bit):

Indy (obviously)

Den (unless/until Plummer implodes)

Probably on even ground with Jax or Cinci, though they handled Cinci pretty easily.

Lost to NE, but I can't rank the Pats ahead of the Steelers at this point in time.

Might rank Seattle ahead of them; only other NFC team in Pitt's league is Carolina.

So at best there are 7 teams better than them, depending on your criteria. I'd say there are only 2 or maybe 3 CLEARLY better than them, and about 25 teams they are better than.

So unless you're ranking the entire NFL as mediocre to bad aside from the Colts, the Steelers AREN'T mediocre.

Hope basically dropped a punt there. :D I can't believe Suzy Kolber was putting Hope in the same group with Polamalu. Luckly, Mike Patrick was smart enough to make it clear that Hope is good, but Tryo is great. It is a shame that a good announcer like Patrick is stuck with those two bufoons.
