Zooty
White or Williams would be perfect... 1279311 Maybe they would run the ball!
General Itals
Have you actually watched Maroney play for more than one game? I'm just curious because what I saw out of him I was very impressed. Yes, MN's O line was solid and he played on a fast surface, but he was very strong, ran well inside (from the games I watched him play), broke tackles and has the home run threat everytime he touches the ball. I think he can be a star at the next level. Just my opinion.....I know drafts are a crap shoot. I can't comment on his receiving skills though, I didn't see too many screens or passes thrown his way. 1278620 I saw about ten of his games this year; four in person since I have Goph season tickets. Last year, Barber III and Maroney shared carries and their roles were almost identical. Both ran the sweep play (which Maroney was better at with his superior speed) and inside (which Barber seemed more adept at). With Barber III going pro last year, I believe it was Mason's intention in the pre-season to feature Maroney with brief spells from his backups. By the fourth game, Maroney displayed an inability to gain the tough yard up the middle, and Gary Russell was instituted as the middle/short yardage back. By the end of the season, the two were basically splitting touches. Premiere backs don't allow that to happen when they have the chance to solidify the job as their own. Avernus
Maybe they would run the ball! 1279487 that would still be a reach
Big Talker
I've argued this point on another thread, so I won't rehash everything here. But IMO Vince Young will emerge as the CLEAR #1 overall pick.
ebartender
Maybe they would run the ball! 1279487 I don't see them draft a RB in the first since they just signed Westbrook to a nice deal. I would like them too because then they could use Westbrook to return punts & kicks and out wide more often.
The Holy Roller
My first thought is that this draft order is all screwed up, especially toward the end of the draft. So that pretty much makes this prediction a mute point. 1277401 Those darn mutes. Always screwin' stuff up. 1277520 Mel Kiper
CaP'N GRuNGe
I'm surprised he didn't put "Pass" for the Vikings at #17. 1277437 Patrick's brother is coming out early?
CaP'N GRuNGe
I never heard the full story on that one. Was it Tice's fault that the Vikings missed their draft pick that time? 1277485 No, it was Ozzie Newsome's fault. The Vikings had a deal in place to trade down with the Ravens and had phoned in their confirmation and were waiting on Newsome to do the same. Apparently he "couldn't get thru." So while the Vikings didn't even realize they were still on the clock their time expired and a couple teams jumped in front and grabbed their players. So far karma has been good to Ozzie on that one because instead of getting Byron Leftwich the Ravens ended up trading up if I recall correctly for Kyle Boller. no one
Not Bad My Dallas Wish list. QB Jay Cutler, OT, FS, LB, OG, DT, FB JD Runnels. 1277138 TY ... as long as they go O-Line early and address a few needs in the draft and then cover the rest in FA I'm happy.
