untateve
can someone explain the onside kick call? how does oregon end up with the ball? It appeared clear that an oregon player touched the ball first, and before it went 10 yards.

giantsfan
Okla got screwed. Â 1. That onside kick was clearly touched by Oregon before 10 yards. 2. That ball was clearly tipped on the PI. Â What a joke the college officials are.
Bushey
Definitely a PAC 10 officiating crew. The referee said that they had visual evidence that a member of the receiveing team touched the ball. I saw the replay several times and did not see it. I did see an Oregon player bat it forward after 8 yards. A tough call, but those refs were just thinking of their own survival. If they gave the ball to the sooners they would have bneen killed by the mob.
LiL10(s)ArEaJoKe
Oregon did win.....on a gift from the lowly sac 10 ref's..... the receiving team touched the ball first????? Tooooooo many dope smokers on the west coast!
gilthorp
If I were on OU fan, I'd be pretty pissed and would wait several hours, if not days, before I posted here. Clearly a bad call IMO.
Nation
OU was robbed in Eugene. NO question about it. The last 30 seconds the review booth from Oregon blew 2 calls. First the onside kick was as clear as night and day. Even teh announcers said OU was robbed. Add the clear misdirection on the pass interference penalty that was clearly tipped and Oregon scores 2 plays later. Â The refs from the Pac-10 and the review booth from Oregon gave this game to Oregon. Oregon certainly didnt win it or deserve it. giggity
Didn't get to watch that game out in Buckeye country, but it sounds like OU got robbed. However a check of the box score shows:  Oregon:  352 Passing 156 Rushing 26 1st downs only 6 penalties  I would say the 4 turnovers are what probably kept OU in this game. So I would hardly say they didn't earn it. They dominated the box score.

giantsfan
Total joke. The onside kick was the worst though. They showed that like 10 times and it couldn't be clearer that it was hit by a Duck firest after about 8 or 9 yards and CLEARLY before 10 yards. Do you ever wish you could be sitting right there in the booth with the guy and after he makes his call say ok buddy now PLEASE tell me what you are basing this on because it is SO clear that isn't the case it hurts. On the field in terms of yards and first downs okay but the way the game played out Okla got jobbed the last 2 minutes of the game. That is clear. Maybe stat wise the game was right there, but at the end the game was OU's and the refs made two terrible calls.
giantsfan
College officials are awful. If you saw the non PI call at the end of the Auburn LSU game you'd think that as well. One of the worst calls I've ever seen.

If there is one thing I cannot stand it is for the officials to decide the outcome of a ballgame. They were trying their best to try to get ND back into the game today with all the chippy late hit calls.

OU had 400 yards of off, with about 215 of it from AD. OU didn't turn the ball over once, and the refs still found a way to be the 12th man!!!!! URLACHERisGOD
I will admit, Oklahoma did not play well in the first half. However, the second half was the OU I enjoy watching. I can't believe that call and am still in a state of shock.
