rajncajn
How serious is the groin injury? Is he expected back this week? Last I heard Payton said he was "hopeful". I'll try to dig up whatever else I can.
rajncajn
INJURY UPDATE: Payton said the Saints came out of Sunday's game with no significant injuries. Marques Colston had a slight concussion but returned; cornerback Jason Craft had a more severe concussion and did not. Both likely will be available this week, as should linebacker Scott Shanle, who had a slight shoulder problem. Payton said he was optimistic that Horn (groin) and Brown (ankle) would return this week, but he would have a better feel for their status by Wednesday after two additional days of treatment. SLAYER
They were given an extra day off this week so today will be the first day on the field. They will possibly hold him out today and see how it is on Thur.
rajncajn
According to Kenny Wilkerson (WWL 870), last week Horn was making steady progress and was ready to play Sunday, but he "tweaked" his groin injury during last Friday's workout. He then had to sit out practice. According to Kenny, Payton's rule is that "if you can't practice by Friday, you don't play!" Horn and Jammal Brown were not making any progress into Saturday and he told them both to stay home and get treatment. Kenny stated that Joe could have played against the Bucs if he was needed, but Payton implemented his "Friday rule"; therefore Joe and Jammal stayed home. Kenny mentioned yesterday that Joe should be ready to play this week and would address the issue on his radio show this Thursday night. Cordo
According to local radio, he did not participate in team drills today (Wednesday). The radio guy was speculating Horn is less than 50/50 to play this week based on that, take FWIW.
major-tom
No need to rush him back if Henderson keeps it up and can stay healthy himself.
Cordo
Local radio - Sean Payton said Horn will start Sunday barring any problem in Friday's practice.
SLAYER
Local radio - Sean Payton said Horn will start Sunday barring any problem in Friday's practice. Practiced today, but needs to practice on Friday. Payton has a rule that he has lived by so far no practice on Friday no play on Sunday. Joe knows Superbowls
It's going to be a gametime decision, but him being downgraded to doubtful is a very bad sign. If D. Henderson is on your waiver wire I'd pick him up.
