godtomsatan
I can't wait any longer. So don't read if you haven't seen it!!!!! The end was lame. Ilan's a Megan Fox.
Azazello1313
i only really watched the last couple episodes, so i can't comment on the whole season. the one thing i loved about the end was how that sam guy pretty much cost the little Megan Fox with the hair the title by telling the judges, yeah that was pretty much my dish with the hearts of palm because Megan Foxie here lost his fish. i get the feeling it coulda gone the other way if not for that. I think if you would have seen the other episodes you would have realized that Sam should have been there instead of Marcel. IMO, Sam was the best chef there. That demonstrated to me a nod to the fact that Sam was the best chef throughout the entire season and that Ilan vs. Marcel was just a ploy to play up the conflict drama. It worked. the finale set Bravo ratings records.
MojoMan
While I tend to agree with the hysteria on foodie boards that Ilan is a tool and should have been kicked off the show a long time ago, being a chef does entail getting the respect of your co-workers. Marcel pissed everyone off and Sam and Mikey kind of shafted him at the end. I can only imagine that Marcel figured he'd never make it to the end because he had to know that some of the cheftestants would be coming back to assist the finalists. F()(K both of em. Last season was much, much better.

twiley
Marcel pissed everyone off and Sam and Mikey kind of shafted him at the end. Marcel lacks leadership skills. Granted I'm no Chef nor do I pretend to be one but I think a great chef needs to find a balance between culinary skills and the ability to manage your team successfully. Granted I'm no Chef nor do I pretend to be one but I think a great chef needs to find a balance between culinary skills and the ability to manage your team successfully. Marcel's lack of leadership skills are probably due to inexperience, first off, but also because he's a pu$$y. I think of the episode where he there was a team challenge that Sam led, and Marcel tried to take individual credit for one aspect of it at the judge's table. Difficult to respect someone's leadership that doesn't respect the team.
Bier Meister
i am liking sam, ilan, frank, and cliff. those were my first impressions after week 1. the rationale for Sam getting cut was rediculous "he didn't cook anything." a big part of being a chef is creating a certain harmony of flavors, and that is not exclusive to cooked products. he was superior (with few excetions) throughout the competition and needed to be at least in the finals. marcel is a fine chef, but seemed to enjoy and perpetuate the role of antagonist throughout. i don't blame the rest of the competitors for disliking him. some things i believe were underhanded and i think there should have been some penalty for (ie: changing temp of oven and turn off the burners). but Ilan began to act childishly..... making certain statements during that "7 deadly sins" contest, i believe that ilan instigated the cliff/marcel thing, and his general attitude toward marcel. Ilan is a good chef... not the best from the show imo. too much spanish influence lets me know he is restricted as a chef. 1st season was better. we'll see what the 3rd has in store for everyone. HowboutthemCowboys
I'm surprised noone commented on Marcel picking Mike for his team. The guy was pretty clueless at times and said in front of everyone he wanted to help Ilan. Why did Marcel choose him???
untateve
I'm surprised noone commented on Marcel picking Mike for his team. The guy was pretty clueless at times and said in front of everyone he wanted to help Ilan. Why did Marcel choose him??? He chose him because sam told him to do so...and marcel is not a leader so he did what sam said. -------------------------------------------------- How do you forget a main f'n ingredient? I'm watching with my wife and I looked at her and asked how do you not, personally, triple check that you have every f'n ingredient on your cart before you go to bed? Hell, I would have used masking tape and labeled all of my ingredients (yep, I'm like that). And then, why do you advertise to the judges you forgot a main ingredient? moran. and marcel, what's up with making a salad? If you're gonna make a salad it better be so good that mah pants get tight. Hey Ilan...you prillck...can you make something that isn't spanish...anything? I don't like that weasel. I had no rooting interest. I watched the finale because I love these kind of shows and I'd watched from the beginning. I enjoyed season one way more. I hope season three focuses more on not only cooking, but also on actually being a top chef.
Sugar Magnolia
I think the most interesting things was... the bald guy (forgot his name) said, and paraphrasing... the Top Chef goes to, not necessarily who will be the best chef in the future, but who showed they were the most experienced chef, and who showed they were the best chef tonight. Meaning they felt Marcel will be the better chef with more experience. I agree, I thought season one was better. All in all the first season had better chefs and this time around they went for personalities for ratings. Also, Sam was the better chef in season two, but again they went for ratings in the finale.
