Wolverines Fan
Yesterday afternoon, I had to do one of the hardest things in recent memory ... our beloved Jasmine (pictured in my avatar) came down with acute liver failure earlier this week and I had to end her suffering. I held her head at the vet's office as she slipped away. It was a crushing blow to Mrs. Nogo and me - she was our best friend for the past 11 years and real good dog. Very well mannered and loved chasing tennis balls in the yard and an occassional squirrel. She will be sorrowfully missed by us and her companion - Lil Bear (our 3 year old Keeshond). Any good vibes would help us get through this difficult time. Good vibes sent. My condolences. I've been through this a few times.

yo mama
I put my dog down a couple weeks ago, too. It sucks. I assure you that the pain of loss will subside. The decade-plus of groovy memories you've got of Jasmine, those you get to keep. Edited March 16, 2007 by yo mama

frenzal rhomb
Sorry man - Ive got two Portugese Water Dogs entering their senior years and I dread the day. Get yourself a new buddy. Never replace your old pal but you can always grow new memories.
PantherDave
Yes, my own English Black Labrador Retriver(I dig the full name) will turn 10yrs on Dec 18 2007. He's hanging in there pretty good, but ya know it's tough on the kids as well-so give'em a hug(if you've got any). Also, as mentioned-get over your buddies passing and then get another, because to many dogs need good homes and love.

irish
Sorry to hear the news Nogo and I know how you feel as I held my wife's (girlfriend at the time) dog in my arms as they put her to sleep. It was an awful thing to do as the dog just looked as though she knew something's up, the paw was shaved, the injection given and within no time at all she fell limp in my arms. I cried and she cried as we just stood there holding the dog in our arms. She looked as peaceful as ever then but we knew it would be the last time we looked into her eyes, hugged her, played ball, etc. and it was such an empty feeling. I truly am sorry for your loss and send my strength and prayers your way to deal with such a trying time. Although you will never forget, time will heal these wounds. Rovers
Been there, nogo. Sorry to hear. 11 years isn't bad... I've lost two before they turned 4. Still almost pups. got luckier with this one, she's all of 7 now. Be grateful yer pup had a pretty full life, if you can. That sort of crappola usually doesn't wash at such a time, but... for many of us, dogs are family members, and just as painful to lose. Cherish the memory and celebrate all the love and spirit your pal brought into you and your family's life. Man's best firend.... aint it the truth.
