DMD
what is the normal width of a web page? tia You need to define normal. The Huddle is set for a width that is currently the standard on the internet. What complicates matters some is that monitors now are big enough and have good enough resolution to allow very wide pages but the internet is also being accessed by other non-PC means which are no where nearly as wide. Whatever we are is the standard though.
Kid Cid
Sigh...What are the requirements such that you need to know the page width? In other words, why is it important that you know?

keggerz
The answer is "Pay a professional." Optimize Web pages for 1024x768, but use a liquid layout that stretches well for any resolution, from 800x600 to 1280x1024.
Seattle LawDawg
You can base some things on % of screen width as well. Obviously you'd determine whether or not to do that based on the contents being displayed.
Kid Cid
My question was aimed at how much you knew about your web traffic. If you look at the forums here, they are optimized for 1024x768 with the extra real estate left blank. That's the way most sites do it now, but I don't really like it.
