SheikYerbuti
It must be a complete album. It must be something interesting, musically. It must also be highly listenable. I must be able to sing along with it in my car, loudly. No country. Country-inspired rock is a maybe. It must be something that you think I'd actually like Das Lied Von Der Erde Complete album? Check Musically interesting? Double Check Listenable? Is that like when the Bud commercial calls it "drinkable"? Check Sing along in the car? Learn German. . .then Check No country? Check Think you'd like it? Sure. . .it's awesome. Check.
detlef
Imperial Bedroom-Elvis Costello So many phrases get stuck in your head. Global a Go Go- Joe Strummer and Los Mescaleros Freaking great album from the late great...The singing loudly in the car bit fits well here. The Information- Beck. OK so he's a freaking scientologist now. Still a cool album and very infectious And don't knock Single's 45s and Under- The Squeeze. If you ever dug these guys, you'll enjoy the trip down memory lane
max
A cd I always like to listen to is Social Distortion's "Story of myLife" album. AtomicCEO
Didn't we used to be able to edit subtitles? I put "Crisp" where I meant to put "Club". Also, I wanted to add Brent's name.
Qdaddyo
I really like this! Is it all instrumental? Or are there lyrics too? All instrumental...they belong to a genre I've recently gotten into called post-rock. Another band that falls into that genre is Explosions In The Sky. They're the band that did the soundtrack for the Friday Night Lights movie and TV show. Here are some more: Dramagods, "Love" - good old fashioned r' n' r'; buy it from iTunes for a heck of a lot cheaper. Failure, "Fantastic Planet" - Noted by most critics as one of the best albums of the 1990's. Boy Hits Car "The Passage" - I consider this album one of my best finds! Deconstruction, "Deconstruction" - When Jane's Addiction broke up, all members sans Perry Farrell formed this band, and the bassist took over singing. Amazing music, but the voice leaves a little to be desired. DJ Shadow, "Endtroducing" - The best trip-hop album ever! Richie Kotzen, "Acoustic Cuts" - Aside from the cheesy album cover, some great acoustic songs brought to you by the guitarist whoe b0n3d Rikki Rocket's wife while he was in Poison. Nuno Bettencourt, "Schizophonic" - Nuno for your soul. Mourning Widows, "Mourning Widows" - More Nuno for your soul. Mourning Widows, "Furnished Souls For Rent" - Even more Nuno for your soul. Population 1, "Population 1" - Yet even more Nuno for your soul. Population 1, "Session From Room 4" - The final Nuno-related album in this batch. Let me know if you want more! Moneyshot
This is easy... The Weakerthans - Left and Leaving. Deathcab For Cutie - Transatlanticism They both get my 100% guarentee

Your passion for Nuno is a little off-putting. But I did download God is an Astronaut - All is Violent, All is Bright. So far that's the only winner from this thread. While out there, I grabbed: The Unicorns - Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone and Dr. Dog - We All Belong. Thanks for your help everyone. Qdaddyo
Your passion for Nuno is a little off-putting. Yeah, my friends say the same thing. However, I think he is the best pure rock player/writer out there.
Chavez
If you don't already own Jeff Buckley's Grace, shame on you. Godspeed You Black Emperor!'s Raise Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven isn't compelling at first blush, but it grows on you quickly.
