You can pick year, month day or from the time you log on... it says that it is an average on the site, which explains all the Thursday weddings. The sources of the base numbers are considered as reliable as it gets (World Health Organization, CIA Fact Book, US Census Bureau). The catch is that they are now extrapolating that data over time to produce this "clock". Without access to their mathematical formulas, it is still a "best guess" scenario. Just as an aside, Ms Cid works pretty closely with ICE and the US Visit program and that 12 millionish number for illegal immigrants is pretty much considered rubbish by them.
