budlitebrad
On the sidelines now. His right foot got caught under AJ Hawk. Too bad, but Priest gets his chance to start a come back. bluedog
he was on the sidelines with his shoes off and being examined by a trainer. No updates from the announcers if he'll be back in the game.

splotchman
Worst part is LJ was just starting to get it going with 4 TDs in last 3 games. Hope he comes back this year, but did not look good when trainers were helping him off the field...

Randall
Radio had Herm Edwards saying it was a foot sprain. Driver had one in PS that wasn't too bad(if the same injury). He had his foot in a boot, got treatment 3 times a day and was playing in about 10 days. Better than a high ankle sprain.

This would be great if this was the worst scenario

Unless its the dreaded Lis Franc Sprain (or however its spelled), which holds the foot bones together in the center of the foot. It's eneded plenty of seasons (see Westbrook and K. Jones)
Hugh-mongus
What's the rushing situation in KC? If LJ is out for any period of time, is Priest the likely replacement? I need to know the best option to claim off waivers as his backup.

i_am_the_swammi
From CBS: News: Kansas City RB Larry Johnson was helped off the field after injuring his right ankle in the fourth quarter against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Johnson, the Chiefs' leading rusher, was injured midway through the fourth quarter when he caught a pass from Damon Huard and was dragged down from behind by Packers LB A.J. Hawk. Johnson caught his toe on the turf after getting his feet tangled with Hawk's, then grabbed at his right ankle. He tried to put weight on the leg after the trainers looked at him, but had to get help to the bench. He later was taken to the locker room. Johnson had 53 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries before the injury. He also caught a 30-yard touchdown pass. A Chiefs spokesman said Johnson, a two-time Pro Bowler, apparently had a sprained ankle, but that nothing definite would be known at least until Monday. "He couldn't put any weight on it. That's never a good sign," said coach Herm Edwards. Doesn't sound like Herm was all that optimistic to me.

Im a LJ owner but have the luxury of other options. But I want this guy back for the gravy part of his schedule, once fantasy playoffs begin. Edited November 5, 2007 by Sgt. fingfootball
My guess is Holmes.
ROYALWITCHEESE
My guess is Holmes. 50-50 split. Priest is too old and frail to be full time IMO. You give him 20 carries a game and you might as well just send him to the training room instead. He got the touches today because he is the most ready. But with a week of first team reps (if LJ is indeed out a significant amount of time) Smith will be ready. He has the tools. Priest would start, but Smith would get an equal share...
