Grits and Shins
So as I sit here Monday morning reflecting on why the Cowboys are cleaning out their lockers today a couple of thoughts occur to me ... Once the Cowboys defeated the Packers they seemed to feel like they were automatically annoited the NFC champion. They went on cruise control and were never able to "turn it back on". I attribute this to poor coaching. I'm thinking perhaps the team was a bit too relaxed during the off week and should have been working hard and staying focused on the task at hand ... winning a super bowl. I don't care who you are .... you don't win playoff games if you are not prepared. Another indication of the lack of focus was how sloppy the Cowboys played with drops and penalties. It looked like a pre-season game. Sloppy play and penalties ... more bad coaching. On the flip side there are the Giants. Not only were they NOT on cruise control to end the season but the had the petal to the medal and came into the post season at full speed. It mattered not to them that the Boys had taken them behind the shed twice this season ... those games were over and done with and were irrelevant to getting to the NFC championship game. Eli Manning has appeared to found his game ... would have have thought if only one Manning was in a conference championship game that it would be Eli? What the Cowboys needed last week getting ready for this game was a nice solid week of hard work ... not a pleasant vacation.

Grits and Shins
Here is a sad fact ... TWENTY FIVE other teams have won a playoff game since the Cowboys last won a playoff game. The last Cowboy coach to win a playoff game was Barry Switzer and the Boys have had 4 coaches since then. whomper
Here's to 12 more seasons! Ill take my lumps from any of the die hards that I have good hearted back and forths with on here.. Swammi , keggerz , the GB boys , NFC east guys etc all of the people that show up win or lose but I cant take a 30 year old male who just discovered this year that the Pats are his favorite team seriously. Sgt. Ryan
As a Cowboy fan, Im utterly disappointed today. I didnt spew too much about the Gmen this week, because I knew they were the only team in the NFC that could beat us, and they did. Edited January 14, 2008 by Sgt. Fantasy Jesus
I attribute this to poor coaching. Then start waiving goodbye to the coaches as they head out the door to Miami. The Sparano announcement should come very soon - who does he bring along? Does Jerry Jones fire Phillips in an effort to keep Jason Garrett away from other teams? Jones said that under no circumstances will Wade be fired ..I heard this on local radio yesterday before the game. Win or lose Wade is back. Win or lose Wade is back. Wade shouldnt be fired. Helluva job this yr. The offense got worse as the year went on, not the defense. Dallas played well enough on defense to win that game. Next yr I expect to see more of this yrs 1st round pick Anthony Spencer. This defense will only get better. As hot a name as Jason Garrett is, Brian Billick was suppose to be a offensive genious too when he was in Minnesota. We all saw how that turned out. If Garrett is gone, Id love to see Billick come to Dallas, and show he just needed talent to make his offense work. Something Balitmore never gave him. Hugh 0ne
Something Balitmore never gave him. McGahee, McNair, Heap, Mason. Yeah, no talent there. Less talent than the Cowboys at those positions, no doubt, but I wouldn't say they're talentless. Billick is a coordinator, not a head coach, and he proved that again this year. It had nothing to do with not having enough talent on offense, it had to do with the fact that he's a clueless HC.

whomper
McGahee,- Over Rated McNair- 80 years old , Heap- never healthy, Mason- Great player. Yeah, no talent there. McNair = well past his prime heap - hurt all yr Mason - also past his prime McGahee is the best offensive weapon Baltimore had, and he isnt a top 15 back in the NFL. Plus the OL was terrible. I agree Billick is not HC material, but I dont think Garrett is either, yet. And if Garrett leaves for a HC job, Id love to see Billick get this offense. Sgt. Ryan
Does the name Norv Turner ring any bells here Funny, Norv is in the final 4, pulling off the biggest upset of the weekend, without LT, Gates and Rivers for the final quarter plus. Hugh 0ne
McGahee - 1438 yards, 8 TD's. 3 of his first 4 seasons he rushed for over 1000 yards. He played for the Bills for three years, if you want to talk about inept offenses, start there.
