SheikYerbuti
Open it. Click on your music library. Sort by Play Count (if you don't have play count in your display, go to View/View Options/click Play Count). What are the 10 most played files in your library? Tom Waits - A Little Rain Radiohead - Black Star Tom Waits - Old Shoes (and Picture Postcards) Jimi Hendrix - Little Wing Motorhead - Ace of Spades Mudhoney - Touch Me I'm Sick Bob Dylan - You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go Neil Young - Don't Let It Bring You Down Glueneck - Hypnotized Radiohead - OK Computer (complete album) I almost always have my iPod on shuffle, so this is pretty much random. So, it doesn't say anything other than I'm bored, and curious about your list. Edited February 29, 2008 by SheikYerbuti
AtomicCEO
Hmmm... my most played song is 3 times. I mainly use iTunes as a repository. I copy the files off to CDs and listen in my car. Well, this isn't a good sample, but here we go: Cannonball - Damien Rice Ok... that's sad. Bodisatva Vow - Beastie Boys Dontcha Think - Brent Toland Watch For Falling Rocks - A Cat Called Cricket My Feet Can't Fail Me Now - Dirty Dozen Brass Band Sweet Lord in Heaven - Mike Doughty Old News - Dr. Dog Going Down the Road Feeling Bad (Des Moines 6-16-74) - Grateful Dead Hottentot - John Scofield Arko - Leon Kotsky and Mike Gordon
SheikYerbuti
My Feet Can't Fail Me Now - Dirty Dozen Brass Band I was sitting at a poker table 2 days ago, and the woman sitting next to me says "What are you listening to? What little I can hear of it, it's awesome!"
Clubfoothead
Mudhoney - Touch Me I'm Sick Probably on mine too. I use it at work mainly.
darin3
My iTunes is too new on my laptop for that to actually work.... but good thread idea. I would suspect that my iPod's most played would include, at this point, Breaking Benjamin, John Digweed, Tool, The Jerky Boys, Earshot and Donald Glaude (very obscure DJ). The Vatican Hitsquad
First Drink of the DAY - 7 Seconds of Love Ghost Town Blues - Social Distortion Gotta Know The Rules - Social Distortion Don't Drag Me Down - Social Distortion Lovers In A Dangerous Time - Barenaked Ladies All On Black - Alkeline Trio GhosT of a Texas Ladies Man - Concrete Blonde LadyKillers - Lush Can't Wait One More Minute - CIV Under The God - Tin Machine Great thread, I have to admit I was suprised when I looked at my list. A few thigns I found amusingly surprising about my list: -First Drink of the Day. As much as I love this song, it never even crossed my mind that it would be in the top 10, let alone 1 -Social Distortion. My favorite band, but 3 song sin a row (2-4) was funny to me. And right outside the top 10, there are a few more. -Tin Machine. I loved this band's first album (Bowie, Gabriels and the Sales brothers), but I am a HUGH Bowie mark and would have thought a Bowie solo track would have showed up before this. Not only did DB not show up before this Tin Machine song, but ANOTHER Tin Machine song shows up before one by the thin white duke does. Savage Beatings
Adieu - Yoko Kanno Lips of an Angel - Hinder Ballad of Fallen Angels - Yoko Kanno Easy Tonight - Five For Fighting Clocks - Cold Play Crazy Bitch - Buckcherry Black is the Color - Christy Moore Beloved - Luscious Jackson Dark End of the Street - The Commitments Lose Yourself - Eminem This is very strange... I wouldn't have guesses that Hinder would be way up there for me. It's not really one of my favorites, but my wife loves it, so I listen to it a lot when I'm thinking about her. SheikYerbuti
remember that itunes only registers the play count if the song plays all the way through ... I think that's good for the purposes of this thread. I don't want a song counted if half way though it I say "Meh, what's next?" Wow, now it seems even crazier that I have a 55 minute long file in my top 10. . .

What amazed me is that one of them practically lapped the field. Of course, both those Shuggie songs are money. More than that, is that my #2 is some random Al Green B-side. You usually put your entire library on shuffle? I can't imagine a situation where I'd want to hear a random sampling of my music. I've got some f'ed up stuff in there (Steven Jesse Bernstein Prison comes to mind) and I'm almost always not in the mood to here that. I can just imagine Ocean Size followed up by Bach Sonata #5 in C major, followed by Black Sheep, followed by 'Round Midnight....
