Chief Dick
Thought I'd get a thread started for the draft picks and discussion.
Skilly
3 1/2 hours to get chores done before the draft starts. Approx 4 hrs 20 minutes before Chief is throwing his boot through the tv.
Chief Dick
ESPN reporting that Chris Long will be the Rams pick. Not sure why the Rams would say anything at this point. Is this just pre-draft posturing? If it's Long, that sets up some interesting possibilities for the next few picks. edit: i'm a dumbass Edited April 26, 2008 by Chief Dick

I'm sure it is pre-draft posturing, at the same time though they're making their intentions very clear in case someone wants to trade up and take Long for themselves. budlitebrad
DMC has brother who's a Crip and one who's a Blood? Thanksgiving must be awkward.
gilthorp
The draft really starts with McFadden and where he goes, as well as Ryan. If Dorsey slips, it will be gold for whoever gets him.
budlitebrad
Imagine if Ryan goes to ATL and DMC to Oakland? Herm Edwards would blow his load all over CP.
H8tank
Ted Ginn was the worst draft pick I can remember. I saw a mock draft on jaguars.com and rogers-cromartie slipped to 26... me likey.

budlitebrad
I would love them trading down still. There would be plenty of phone calls coming in. It'd be hard for Herm to pass up a top rated 3 technique player though.

Jags have extra picks. I see them trading up for one of the top 4 DEs, unless they make a last minute deal with the Fins for Taylor. They could very well trade down too if someone like Brohm is still on the board and a team like Atlana wants him. But if Cromartie is still on the board I can see that happening as well. Jags will have a very interesting day.

darin3
Scheftner confirmed that Baltimore is desperately trying to jump to #2 to select Matt Ryan. I seriously doubt they have enough firepower to make that happen.

budlitebrad
The jump from #8 to #2 is 1200 points, so they would give up this year's #1, next year's #1 and maybe more.
