wiegie
I think I heard somebody here say that Service Pack 3 is Microsoft's way of making people switch to Vista. (i.e. do NOT install)

The Irish Doggy
I can't use standby mode anymore on one comp. Instead of going to standby, the comp just turns off. No shutdown, no nuthin'. I haven't installed anything else, so I know its SP3. The comp acts just like I pulled the plug. I upgraded all my drivers to be sure as that is a possible cause, but made no difference. F'n weird. H8tank
It really isn't as much of a service pack as it is a collection of all the updates up to this point. It is harmless, however if it is a networked business machine, I wouldn't mess with it, in fact all auto-updates should be TURNED OFF. A home machine? Won't hurt anything. Same thing happened on my computer. Try going to the control panel and select power options. You should be able to change the setting there.
