Hasn't V Jax become the no. 1 receiver in San Diego? Weren't the Niner's playing the sad sack Bears at home? Decision made sense, it just didn't work out. However, Gates is no lock for a big game. I have Schaub on a Bye in three leagues, and I started Smith as a replacement in all three. I figured he would do okay against the Bears defense. I was not expecting a huge game, 10-15 points would have been okay. Of course Smith picked this week to have his quietest game of the year. Yup, it's going to be a long weekend. Your lost points may not amount to much. I agree with this. I started him over Gates, too, as I did last week and both were good starts. It just didn't work out Thursday night.
