Uh, no they don't. Been using Macs for years and have never seen that.

 

Because you probably don't use the "Mail" program, or if you do you do not have quoting and progressive quoting turned on.

 

It's a preference within a program. That is all. Has nothing to do with "Macs" specifically other than that they rin this program.

Ah, I have it turned off, actually - I think you need to physically enable that because I had mail automatically set everything up for me.

I don't have a Mac, but several people I know have them and most have the ">".

I'll suggest your solution to them. :tup:
