The Holy Roller
The bride and I were awakened this morning at 3:10 by some vibrations. The whole house was humming like someone had parked a big truck outside with the engine running. It lasted about 5 seconds and then was gone. She rolled over and said, "Earthquake." I got up and let one of the dogs in. That was that. Then this morning we were watching the local news from St. Louis and sure enough, we had had a 4.2 quake epicentered about 30 miles from us. Go figure. And, no, there was no quakesex involved.

lennykravitz2004
Completely slept right through it. Had no idea until I got to work and one of my co-workers came in and started talking about it. Nothing seemed amiss in the upstairs when I left this morning. Now I can't wait to get home and check through the rest of the house to see if anything fell off shelves or walls. You have any damage or anything that you can tell?

You have any damage or anything that you can tell? Nothing out of place. No house damage. And both dogs that were in the house slept right thru it. I had heard that animals were sensitive to impending natural disasters like earthquakes and storms but the two inside were still snoring after I let the one that was outside in. Another myth busted. Apparently most folks slept thru it according to Channel 4 this morning. I'm not sure how intense 4.2 is but it didn't last long enough here to do much. DMD
In Sacramento, I enjoyed night time earthquakes since they were always 75+ miles away and would only gently rock the bed. Kind of relaxing.
