Police arrest veterans and threw their USA flags to the ground in Boston last night. Very American!

Cops all around America have a thing for arresting 20 yr old girls.

Seems they were arrested because the police were protecting $150,000 worth of flowers.

Police are subject to the control and direction of civilian authority. They do not act on their own.

The civilian authority, the democratically elected authority, in Boston is a Mayor who is a Democrat.

The Mayor directed the Chief of Police to clear the public space.

The Police gave several warnings to those in the space that it was to be cleared. They requested cooperation. They did not storm in but moved slowly and peaceably in.

The citizenry who had determined they would not cooperate with lawful requests, who choose instead confrontation, were taken peaceably into custody. That means they were cuffed , zip tied actually. Cuffing requires arrestees empty their hands of sticks and poles. That those sticks and poles happen to hold flags is not necessarily relevant.

Many getting upset about the sanctity of the flag in this instance are happy to see it burn at protests or to be used to wipe up feces while calling it art. The faux outrage is therefore laughable.

BTW, I fully support anyone's right to burn the flag or to use it for toilet paper.

It is laughable that there could be any outrage over the photo ops of controled street theatre, the intended outcome of which was flags on the ground and vets being cuffed. they might as well have cuffed themselves and thrown the flags on the ground themselves. Their status as vets and their holding of flags is not some magic talisman that protects them from the consequences of their own decisions.

How much do tickets cost for Street Bagger Theatre? This is drama at it's finest. The Academy surely will take notice come awards time, IMO.

I believe I will make and market Bill of Rights toilet paper. I will sell them packaged by the amendment. First amendment rolls will have the text of the amendment printed on each square. The same for the second, the fourth, you name it. Then I will wait for orders. Each side of the political spectrum can order up some for their hated adversaries. They will make wonderful gifts to be shared and great items to send to pols, pundits, and judges. imagine the fun in the accompanying cards when one receives this thoughtful gift. "Here, you wipe for ass with the _____ (fill in your favorite amendment) amendment figuratively, now you can do it literally."

I'm going to be rich. People love outrage and hyperbole, and I have just figured out how to market to those desires.

If you have 14 yr old Indonesian girls produce it, then you will be rolling in the dough.

You'd make more money taking said Indonesian girls and exporting them to other countries as hookers.

Technically, the Bill of Rights only encompasses the first ten Amendments.

You are correct... I skipped over that part somehow (or it escaped my cognition) and attributed his idea to all of the amendments. Soooo, if I could only choose from the first ten... How bout the 8th. And maybe the third and fourth.

Now you did it, every lib around here will start picketing all your posts now, demanding that you give them 90% of

your toilet paper money.

Edumacate yourself son. I've seen alot of the world supporting this, including those who protested in the Arab Spring.

So, you think that it is appropriate to compare these kids struggles to those of the people who live under (basically) totalitarian regimes who were beaten, shot, gassed, swept away to holding areas, appeared in front of magistrates with NO legal representation or right to due process?

Yeah, I see, these kids are part of the opressed masses in the US worried about how they're going to pay for their masters in contemporary dance from SUNY. They are very concerned that things have gotten out of control with 9% unemployment (meanwhile in Egypt the unemployment rate was at 20%+ and poverty was rampant). These kids have no concern for when they will get their next meal, though many of those in the Arab Spring would have to stand in line for hours to get bread, meats, vegetables and dairy products.

To even compare the tribulations of these two groups is insane and does a disservice to the struggles that those active in the Arab Spring faced.

Occupy L.A. Speaker: “One of the speakers said the solution is nonviolent movement. No, my friend. I’ll give you two examples: French Revolution, and Indian so-called Revolution.

Gandhi, Gandhi today is, with respect to all of you, Gandhi today is a tumor that the ruling class is using constantly to mislead us. French Revolution made fundamental transformation. But it was bloody.

India, the result of Gandhi, is 600 million people living in maximum poverty.

So, ultimately, the bourgeoisie won’t go without violent means. Revolution! Yes, revolution that is led by the working class.

Long live revolution! Long live socialism!”

Here comes the truth.

Hedge founder gets 11 years in insider trade probe

Is this why people are upset???

"His crimes and the scope of his crimes reflect a virus in our business culture that needs to be eradicated," Holwell said. "When the integrity of the marketplace is called into question, the public suffers."

They are going to need guns. The very guns many of them have opposed politically for years. Violent revolution needs, after all, the tools of violence.

Oh, I'm sure if it came to that some other country would sell us guns. Kind of like we do whenever we feel like it.
