Grits and Shins
The only reason states are shutting 'em down is because they aren't getting a piece of the action. Once they figure out how they can tax all that money and claim their share they will happily allow them to continue. In Texas I have always been amazed that they are on board with the whole lottery thing but not the casinos. So the Texans that want to gamble in a casino take their money to Oklahoma or Louisiana. Idiots.

awesomebench
Nice rant. ☺ living in Nevada, i completely enjoyed your article. On a regular basis, usually beginning of month, i can walk into any casino to witness lifeless eyes punching monotonous buttons, sucking oxygen from a tank, while smoking a cig...all for the chance to turn a paultry social security check into...what??? The ban in nevada is about money, and nothing else! You have NO RIGHT to waste your money...until we figure out how to get our cut...so say the protectors of our land of the FREE...all hail our fearless leaders who's sole motivation is to protect us lemmings. Yes, we need government to protect us from ourselves...NOT.

In Texas I have always been amazed that they are on board with the whole lottery thing but not the casinos. So the Texans that want to gamble in a casino take their money to Oklahoma or Louisiana. Idiots. Just like online poker. Once they set up agreements with states, they started allowing some sites in certain states.
