Grits and Shins
Did your phone ring during the Jets-Oakland game? Apparently the Jets were calling around looking for replacement QBs before the game was over ...
flemingd
Ryan Mallet's did, but he didn't hear it.

Cowboyz1
Weeden and Cassell are available. At least they should be.

stevegrab
Weeden and Cassell are available. At least they should be. I swear after one particularly bad throw by Cassel they showed Garrett on the sideline and he looked like we was thinking about suiting up himself, couldn't be any worse than these two. darin3
What, did they cut Bryce Petty? You think they'll go after a lesser vet that has little experience in Chan Gailey's system as the starter? I bet Geno Smith is OK, and if he's not, why not start Petty?
flemingd
They should start Geno, they still have a chance to get an early QB. 4-12 should draft top 5.

darin3
Ageed. However, starting a rook while still in playoff contention could cost jobs if he flops It's a team based on defense and running the football. It's why they brought Fitzpatrick (nothing more than a game manager) in and partially why the team's succeeded to date. If Geno Smith were the Day 1 starter they may not be where they're at right now. I'd be shocked if they brought a guy like Mallett in. Petty was nowhere near ready in preseason but I'd guess he knows the offense 10 times better than some schlub journeyman.
