Rosster89
Last week I was offered Lamar Miller and Greg Olsen for Sony Michel. On Sunday after the Patriots game was over(over an hour after the injury happened) the trade had still not been cancelled, so I accepted it. Two league members(one of them the commissioner who also happened to be the one who would receive Sony Michel) said I cheated and the trade should be vetoed. In my experience playing, in a situation like this if you snooze you lose, and leaving a trade open during and after game time like this is open game for jumping on that trade. I don't think I cheated, but would like to hear others opinions on this.
Finn5033
Ya that’s on the person who offered the trade. They are just mad they forgot to cancel it.
1fastdoc
I agree it's their fault for not canceling but would you have still made the opportunistic trade if it was a close friend? You took advantage of a situation and it was a dick move but well within your right. This really isn't a question for the forum, it's one for your conscience. You'll find plenty here that would go ahead on the trade and I'd argue that this topic will distinguish those with honor from those without. Judge Smales
I agree with most others here. You snooze you lose, but if this a league amongst friends I can see why the friction here. You took advantage of the rules and process to gain a possibly significant advantage over another team owner. You didn't break any rules, but if I was in a league with you I would watch my back with you and not trust you much going forward to try and pull this again . Don't be surprised if the league loses a few owners next year.

This, the OP was within their rights as an owner, but it was clearly them taking advantage of the situation. Were they going to do the trade if Sony was healthy? Yes the other owner should have pulled their offer, I had one on the table with no real risk for me, but after 2-3 days not hearing back I cancelled it Saturday. Some fantasy players don't pay much attention, and sometimes it will bite them.Maybe the owner who proposed the trade learns a valuable lesson. But this is not cheating, and it does not warrant a trade veto or anything like that. We require commish approval as a formality in our league, and if the owner who offered the trade came to us and said "no way, not fair that guy got hurt trade should not be processed" we'd tell him "sucks for you, don't leave trade offers open during games next time." stethant
Agree with others - it's within the bounds of allowed play but isn't going to make the league any better and likely will become much worse. Is it worth it to you that much to win? Only you can answer that.
michaelredd9
Accepting a trade after a player gets injured is bush league.
michaelredd9
I don't think it should be allowed. I put it in the same category as someone who accidentally drops the wrong player in a free agent pickup. I don't mind if either of these things are allowed but it should be determined in the rules before it becomes an issue. Well written rules prevent a lot of drama.
Patriots
Its a dick move but Sony is only going to miss one or two weeks is what I am hearing. So Karma could come back to you on this one.

Have to disagree, not at all like clicking the wrong player in a roster move, that's a simple mistake this is an owner not paying attention to their team. Make a trade offer and leave it open while games are played and guys could be injured, is poor management. Also don't agree that the rules have to cover everything like this, if we did cover it in our league it would simply say - you're SOL if you leave a trade offer open and players are injured One year I accidentally clicked ACCEPT on a trade offer I meant to reject, but the comment/response clearly stated "no deal, how about something like this" and made a counter offer. Was late at night, typed my wordy offer, and then lost focus and clicked accept. I immediately contacted the other owner and my co-commish, who would have had to approve the trade. Both understood. If something like what the OP discussed happened in our league not sure what we'd do, my opinion wold be owner is SOL. My co--commish is a nicer guy and may not agree, so we'd have to hash it out. And if we wanted to have a rule I'd fight hard for one that doesn't absolve owners of their responsibility to manage their team.
NFL343
I think if michel only misses a few games you might lose that trade lol Edited October 25, 2018 by NFL343
