LegFuJohnson
Congrats to the Sox. Now finish the job. The curse wasn't about getting to the World Series, it was winning it. I hope the Cards get there, I can't root for Clemens either.
Czarina
Ahh...the hipocracy of it all. The real question is, if the Sox win the Series, will people say they "bought" the title? If they don't, then they are hipocrits and morons. 499976 Ridiculous. I know that the Sox payroll is the second highest, but you do realize that the Yankees' payroll is nearly $60million higher, right? That's enough difference to have practically the entirety of either the Astros or the Cards on their rolls as well. That's huge. Heck, UT will probably take Brady's weener out of his mouth for a minute and jump on the BoSox band wagon. OK, Sorry Red Sox fans, that was a low blow. Congrats to Boston for never quitting, great series, and I humbly await my new sig line from Caveman Nick. FWIW, do you Sox fans think this win means anything if they don't win the World Series? Obviously the beat the Yanks, but in the big picture they really have to win the series, no?
Czarina
Naturally I'd love for them to win it all. However, I have my doubts that either of the AL teams could beat the NL team this year. Just a hunch, but I think the emotional let down from this week is going to hurt them a lot. For me personally, the humiliation of the Yankees is enough. I'm not that big a baseball fan. I Like Soup
This series was one for the ages. While my friends and I were watching the game at a sports bar, I couldn't just help but feel incredulous. I can't say I've ever felt that way watching a sporting event. I'm a NL guy but this year I'll be rooting for the Sox (only AL team I will root for).
AtomicCEO
I just went back to see who took Hugh up on the sigline bet. Nice work, Nick!! Then I saw this... Siglines for 4 weeks. I'll even give it up for an extra 2 if Francona blows it in game 7 by leaving Pedro in too long. 480263 That was eerie... Would this have covered if instead he put Pedro in for no apparent reason just to give up a few runs and get the crowd back into the game? On another note, it looks like Hugh has a nice drive ahead of him, considering that he now appears to live and breathe that Philadelphia freedom.
