uglytuna
I think the best team in the NFL right now is the Steelers but I find it very hard for anyone to argue the Steelers are the best team right now. So why would the odds makers have the Steelers as a 4:1 favorite to win the Super Bowl? Then they have the Patriots are a 3:1 favorite to win it all? Don't they realize Pittsburgh beat NE easily back on Oct 31. Plus NE melt down to an easy team like the Dolphins? Why does Vegas have New England winning it all when the Steelers are the best team in the NFL? Any ideas? Ugly Tuna

What was the spread in their game agaisnt the Steelers earlier this year ? Vegas is often wrong. I would guess it is due to the fact that the Steelers are being led by a rookie QB. It is going to be a battle in the AFC, there is no question about that and whoever comes out still standing is a sure thing in the Super Bowl in my opinion. max
i'd say its cause the patriots have been there!!! 634327[/snapback] I agree with you. Although I am a Steelers fan and I hope they win it all. Until the Pats are knocked out of the playoffs they are still "The Champs".
lkirc
Veags lines aren't set based on who the bookies think will win. They are set so that the most money comes into the sportsbook, preferably spread evenly, so the casino will get he "juice". Money lines and props are a little different, but based on the same principle. The fact that the Pats have better odds at this point means that Vegas thinks the betting public will put more money on them to win than anybody else.
