Menudo
Definitely impressed with the Vikings tonight. Childress' debut was a good one. Brad Johnson looked solid, the running game was good, and the defense looked decent. Nice win. Congrats to all Viking fans, except Hugh One Edited September 12, 2006 by Menudo
Goopster24
Speaking of that, how about all these first year head coaches and their teams. Very impressive indeed.
Avernus
I agree...I've spent the summer trying to convince the Viking fans that their team is headed in the right direction...

The Irish Doggy
That was a fun game to watch. Vikings are easy to cheer for this year.

MikesVikes
Looks like Childress is all about mistake free football. Daunte's not a good fit in his program.

Wins count for a lot, but look at how some of those teams played. Lions took the NFC defending champs Seahawks to the brink. Saints looked great and Houston played well against a good Philly team. And Minnesota looked very, very good. Could be somewhat interesting in the NFC North this year. alexgaddis
I feel like Menudo after the Superbowl right now... ...okay, not really but man this aint your Ticey's Vikes...Childress is going to bring a winning attitude to this team...what a great first game for the purple... Which cheesehead was it on here that was doubting Childress?

Rebellab
As a lifelong Viks fan I want to make a few comments on tonights game. 1. No turnovers is a wonderful feeling. 2. Childress had a game plan and stuck to it. 3. It was nice to win a close game due to good play calling. I was disappointed in the long field goal attempt. The D was playing great, and they should have punted. I am not the coach, so I will shut my yap now.

Savage Beatings
I'm very glad they came away with a victory on the road in front of a Monday Night crowd! Brad Johnson: Made some great decisions, sonme good throws, but also some pretty bad throws... hopefully there will be less of those as the season progresses. Troy Williamson: Like Brad Johnson, he made some good catches and some obviously bad drops. He's got talent, but he's no Cris Carter along the sidelines. Chester Taylor: Did alright... good thing that Childress is committed to getting him so many touches each game though... I think he might need them in order to get those yards up there (31 carries and only 88 yards). Very glad to see him get in the endzone. O-line: I seriously expected a lot more from them. They quite simply need to improve IMHO. Hicks might be a weak link all year. Defense: Not bad. I was actually hoping for a lot more from them, but I think they will at least keep the Vikes in each of their games this season. Coach Childress: Called an even game, and got his first win (and against a legend like Gibbs)... that's gotta go a long way towards building his confidence. I like it! T_bone65
Williamson looked great until that long ball down the sidelines went right through his arms. It should would be nice if he stepped it up and made those catches since I have him as a #3 WR in a dynasty league.
Hugh 0ne
The personal foul on Taylor was a terrible call. If Troy Williamson continues to drop passes, he WILL cost them a game. The Vikes may have played turnover free football, but they still made a lot of mistakes and had a lot of penalties. If Kluwe is the holder all year, he WILL cost them a game, and give me an ulcer. The Vikes O-line was going against a very good Redskins D-line, so I disagree with Savage, I think they played well, especially against the pass rush. We beat the Redskins, which means skins is crying in his Fruit Loops this morning, and that makes me Edited September 12, 2006 by Hugh 0ne
