Well if its more of the same old same old with Eli this year, which i dont think will happen, there is gonna be one less excuse to use...Plax and Shockey are comming to camp when they arnt required to.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – In his first two years with the Giants, Plaxico Burress made as many May appearances in New Jersey as snow.

But Burress made his first public Giants Stadium appearance of the spring today and like the accompanying warm weather, he promises to stay. Burress has spent the majority of his previous offseasons working out in Florida. But several conversations with quarterback Eli Manning, who has urged him to join the team for informal workouts, helped convince him to participate.

WR Plaxico Burress has arrived at Giants Stadium and is preparing for the 2007 season with his Giants teammates.

“I’m here because I want us to be better and I want him to reach his full potential, which I think can be great,” Burress said. “We can do nothing but help him and myself out. I’m here, willing to work, and we just have to go out and get it out done. Me and him - all of us - hopefully can get on the same page and be successful, just have fun on Sundays and make plays.”

Asked how long he planned to stay in town this offseason, Burress said, “I’m here. I’m not going anywhere.”

Plax

Eli Manning yesterday told MSG Network he received a text message from Jeremy Shockey that said the tight end will finally arrive at the Giants' offseason workout program Monday.

Shockey has been working out in Miami.

Shockey

should help out having the two people you throw the most to at offseason workouts

How's that going to help the fact that he constantly throws high and behind his receivers?

How can you throw high AND behind his receivers? Seems like it would be either/or.

That all said, the Giants are without Tiki so that alone changes up the offense and I just cannot imagine Coughlin without a stud back which he likely will be without this year. That will make the pass more important, but also allows the defense to be less concerned with the run unless Jacbos can really step up this year. I haven't written Eli off by any means, but playing in NY under Coughlin seems like it would limit any QB.

What's not to understand? He often throws high. He often throws behind. At times he is both high and behind. I didn't say he was high and low at the same time, or in front and behind at the same time. I said he was high and behind, sometimes just one of those options, sometimes a combination of the two.

Well, if you don't understand that, it would at least help explain the William Green prediction a little. :D

If this were William Green related, we would understand how he could be high and behind...or in front...or low...on the bench...eating fritos....etc. We would just expect the high to go with whatever else was going on.

Well, there is still another excuse for Eli....The NY Giants did squat for offensive line help again this year. It should help Eli that Plax and Shoc are in camp but if I was them, I'd work on the pass protection brakedown scenario. And everytime that happened, I'd look right at the coaches and then the owners box if I was Eli Manning.

Actually they did do something, they got rid of Pettigout. He was good, but not 5 mil a year good. That and he made way to many mental mistakes.

I understand what your saying about the Tiki loss, but i cant think that teams are just going to be less concerned about Jacobs. He has shown flashs and if he proves he can handle the ball 20+ times a game...he is gonna be special. Im not saying he is Tiki but i think he is a major concern to an opposing defence until he proves otherwise.

Brandon Jacobs

Asante Samuel couldnt catch this guy, and kherry Rhodes got laid out...he gets out of his upright running style and you might have a future pro bowler here...worst case he is fun to watch. Having your top two recievers in camp to get comfortable should help...but it all boils down to David Dhiel/Guy Whimper this season

to sum up, i know he isnt proven yet...but i dont think any defence is gonna shrug Jacobs off this year.

I'm not so sure. It looked like brother Peyton's championship last year got to him (maybe all 3).

You know the last few years Eli could have gone down to Florida too.

Saying that I did draft 2 rookie QB's. :D

I'm not discounting what Jacobs can do too much - it is unlikely he will step in and play as well as Barber did but he has talent to be sure. But when the defense lines up, I am confident that they would rather see Jacobs than Barber in the backfield. I hope Jacobs has a great year, but he has to make that transition from being the effective relief player to being the every down guy and that is when the real test happens. Jacobs isa load to bring down to be sure. I hope they use him as a receiver as they did Tiki but that remains to be seen.

Brandon Jacobs is the next version of Ron Dayne. Anyone who thinks this guy will sniff Tiki's numbers is crazy. JMHO of course. :D

I think you're wrong on that. He won't be Tiki, but he definitely won't be Dayne either. Unlike Dayne, Jacobs doesn't go down when someone brushes up against him.

well 1400 yards and 15td i think is totally within reach...which will give him tiki-esque fantasy numbers from the rushing side of things...tiki made aton of money for people off the receiving yards he got though. But jacobs did average 13 yard per reception...even if you take away the one he broke its still at 10 ypr. if he gets 20 carries a game average, i think he will be a top ten back next year..and worthy of a first round fantasy pick in 08

Who had more INTs than Vick?

Eli Manning.

While above is true, the fact is...

Manning - 522 pass attempts & 18 picks = 1 pick per 29.0 passes.

Vick - 389 pass attempts & 13 picks = 1 pick per 29.9 passes.

However...

Plax + Toomer + Shockey > Jenkins + White + Crump

&

Tiki + Jacobs > Dunn + Norwood

What it all means = They both suck at passing, but maybe Vick sucks a little less? :D

Actually the Pass to Interception ratio for all QBs over 8 games played last year:

PASS	INT	P/I	PLAYER244	1	244	Damon Huard588	8	74	Marc Bulger261	4	65	Mark Brunell557	9	62	Peyton Manning316	6	53	Donovan McNabb460	9	51	Philip Rivers555	11	50	Drew Brees517	12	43	Tom Brady520	13	40	Carson Palmer431	11	39	Jake Delhomme468	12	39	Steve McNair442	12	37	David Carr328	9	36	Bruce Gradkowski613	18	34	Brett Favre376	12	31	Matt Leinart430	14	31	J.P. Losman485	16	30	Chad Pennington389	13	30	Michael Vick439	15	29	Brad Johnson522	18	29	Eli Manning442	16	28	Alex Smith356	13	27	Vince Young596	22	27	Jon Kitna241	9	27	David Garrard337	13	26	Tony Romo388	15	26	Joey Harrington371	15	25	Matt Hasselbeck317	13	24	Jake Plummer480	20	24	Rex Grossman192	8	24	Aaron Brooks391	17	23	Charlie Frye198	9	22	Trent Green276	13	21	Andrew Walter470	23	20	Ben Roethlisberger

And to illustrate the importance of scheme, Bulger had 74:1 under Linehan and was 31:1 under Martz (2005) similar to the 27:1 that Kitna had last year.
