I'm not as high on the Steelers going into the season as I have been in the past. Don't get me wrong, I still think there is a lot of talent in Pittsburgh, but, with the transition into a new coaching staff, after having the same guy there for 15 years, it could be tough. Also, I have concerns about the offensive line, especially the o-line depth.

I will say this, I think you will see improvement from all offensive Steelers players fantasy-wise this year, with the one exception possibly being Parker (only because his numbers were so high last year) but, I'm not sure if that will translate into victories. The Steelers new offensive coordinator, Bruce Arians, likes to throw the ball more, and he has promised to have the Steelers open things up a good deal on offense. Bill Cowher was a tremendous coach, but, he was as stubborn as they come, which might have been a good thing.

I think the Steelers will be a tough team to predict this year. Their schedule is favorable early, but, finishes brutal. I could see them finishing anywhere from 7-9 to 11-5. As for the Jags, I have no idea who will win that game at this point in time. I took the Steelers, but, it is far too early to decide. The Jags are a solid team with a good defense and tremendous running game. I still don't think they have a QB good enough to take them to the next level, but, they are a solid team.

That's my honest opinion, but, I doubt that was what h8tank was looking for. :D

I just want you to bet me Pitt wins more games than jax.

I too see your qualms about pitt, but I see Jax as poised to have a great season, I haven't been this excited about a season in as long as I can remember. I currently have no confidence in the post season, but regular season, I see them losing very few games.

Bet me.

Do you want to bet on their head to head games, season wins, or both ? I'm certainly not going to make a hugh bet, as I noted before, I'm not overly confident, but, I certainly think the Steelers are capable of winning their head to head match-up, as well as having more wins.

I think the Jags have a nice team, and I still think the Steelers have potential to be good, but, I just have more questions marks heading into this year as compared to most.

Offer me a specific bet, and I'll consider it.

I bet Jax wins more regular season games than pitt, tie push. C-note.

And please, Dec 16th game is already decided, we have 2 years precedent to go on. :p

Sure, why not. It's a bet....... $100 to the team with the most regular season wins. Tie = Push.

We'll worry about the gameday bet when the time comes. :D

Out of curiosity, I checked Vegas Odds:

Team Wins:

JAX Over 9 (-115)

JAX Under 9 (-115)

PIT Over 9 (-105)

PIT Under 9 (-125)

Odds to Win Super Bowl:

Pittsburgh - 20/1

Jacksonville - 28/1

Odds to Win AFC Title:

Pittsburgh - 11/1

Jacksonville - 15/1

Odds to Win Division:

Pittsburgh - 2/1

Jacksonville - 11/4

We all know that Vegas odds often don't mean much, but, I'm just throwing them out there to show another perspective.

I have to honestly say that if I was forced to bet on this one I would have to take Jax. Having said that, I could see the Steelers winning anywhere from 6-11 games this year. I expect it to be more like 8 or 9 though.

Well, I think there too talented to go 6-10, but, I agree with your general sentiment. It is a hard season to predict for the Steelers, with the changes on the coaching staff, and the questions marks that came up last season.

I see the JAX-PIT thing as a coin-flip. I figure, why not make it interesting, and give me another reason to root against the Jags. The first being that H8tank is rooting for them. :D

Last season wasn't hard to predict for the The only 6 time Super Bowl Winners and YOUR DADDY.... :D

True, but, the year before that, you were WAY off...... :D
