rush00756
10 team ppr league. 1 QB, 1RB, 2WR, 2 flex (WR/RB) 1 K, 1D After the first five rounds, with any combo of WR/RB selections, I would find it hard to go more WR's and RB's, when I could get a TE or QB. I know that you can still get a fairly good TE and QB late. Or would I be better off to keep building my bench if the value is there. I've had bad luck with upper tier 3 Qb's and tier 3 TE's for 7-8 years now. Do I just let the draft come to me and pick best available? What say you? If that doesn't work, I lose.

DMD
While there are always many variables at play, generally speaking in a ten team league I like to get the top tier QB and even TE since everyone should have at least a decent team. You need difference makers in as many spots as you can. WR's are important but they are also the deepest position and at times more unpredictable. I like a team of the best starters possible in a ten team league and if I sacrifice anywhere, it is in WR because there are always guys on the waiver wire with at least a little value. WR is the position that produces the most waiver wire gems too. Catching an undrafted QB or TE that is a top 5 player is almost impossible. Seahawks21
I never take extra receivers. A little scouting can find you a couple solid receivers on the waiver wire every year that you can play for stretches if all else fails. I do almost always try to get an elite QB unless there is a guy a little later that I REALLY like that might slide. It seems to me that more so than any other position, fantasy teams with the best QB's tend to end up in the playoffs. Most drafts have a TE run. Usually somebody reaches for Gates in the 3rd or 4th. Then in the 5th or 6th, once that next TE is taken, you'll see the next two or three go real quick. Unless I end up in the perfect spot to get a TE that I really like, (e.g. there is a run on TE's in the 5th round, four TE's are drafted in front of me and Dallas Clark is there and I see a big dropoff after that) I might take my 3rd RB before I take my second receiver or my TE. Of course, there has to be a RB still on the board that I really like that I think I could start for my team. Good fantasy RB's are still gold and will always be gold. Somebody in your league is going to need one sooner than later when their starters either get hurt or turn into a bust. You'll be able to couple one of your RB's and your current QB or current TE for any just about any QB or TE you want. More often than not, you'll end up needing that RB yourself when your own starters get hurt or become busts. RB typically isn't an amazingly deep position, so it's a bit more difficult to hit on a guy late in the draft. If there a good handful of RB's you still like on your board, go ahead and let RB slide and take that top TE, but if there is a RB sitting there that you think is going to be really good, don't reach for a TE just for the sake of filling out your lineup. That extra RB can like putting a big deposit in the bank.

He was a top tier QB all year and it just a luck of being at the top of the WW.... TE's on the other can appear out of no where. Granted they won't be top tier but you can find a guy off the WW to put up solid TE numbers..
Clubfoothead
I wait for QB. I usually have so many problems with my teams it has never bitten me in the a$$. I'd be looking at the bet TE on the board and then load up on WR unless a #2 RB slides. That forumla won't win you any titles however.
