Hugh 0ne
Boys and girls, I'm back by popular demand. At least that's what I tell myself. You know the drill. Ask your questions, please post any and all pertinent information I may need to help make my decision easier, like scoring type, matchups, roster requirements etc. PLEASE DO NOT ASK ME TO PICK YOUR ENTIRE LINEUP!!!! Fire away. Oh, and sorry that I didn't get to a lot of questions last week, I had a busy work week and just couldn't find the time. I'm off on Friday this week, but between this afternoon and tomorrow I should be able to get to a lot of your questions.
IronMan04
Hey Hough One, hope this isn't asking too much. I start 2 RBs, 2 WRs, and 1 RB/WR Flex Here's what I got RB: (Huddle stat prediction follows) Dom Davis @ Jax - 90,0 Edge vs SD - 90,1 Portis @ Dallas - 90,1 K Jones vs Chi - 130,1 McDeuce vs Atlanta - 110,1 WR: Moss vs GB - 120,2 Burleson vs GB - 100,1 Harrison vs SD - 100,1 Kennison vs Oak- 130,2 Rushing and Receiving yards have been combined in the yards total above. I have Trent Green starting as a QB so starting Kennison is almost a lock. So is Moss Here's what I am leaning towards: RB K.Jones Portis WR: Moss Kennison Flex: Harrison I am torn beween starting Harrison at flex or starting Edge (a stud), McDeuce (Atl has clinched and resting players), or Burleson (Minny will be able to score on GB's 2ndary) Yardage is the same for WR/RB and so is TD pts. The rest of my team is in my sig. Please let me know what you think.
Scrambled
Hugh, Who would you start for your 2nd RB if your choices were between Deuce M and Tiki for this week? I think i am leaning towards Tiki as my 2nd starter I am already starting James as the first RB. Also i need to PU a D this week since i really dont want to use indy and i am leaning towards Carolina but the choices are: Carolina @ Tampa Cincinnati VS NYG Washington @ Dallas Jacksonville VS Houston Thanks a bunch Edited December 22, 2004 by Scrambled
Phat Rugby
Hey Hugh, Hope the Holidays are good. Two questions. WR: Start 3 RMoss - starting Burelson vs GB - another big game? Clayton vs Car - Last week was not so good. RWilliams vs Chi - Finally, a good week. A little banged up. Another good week? Defense: Wash @ Dal Miami vs Cleveland - too good to be true? Chi @ Det Thanks for all the input this year.
giantsfan
Okay at WR which 3 for the SB Hugh. Porter- at KC Mason- v Den Horn- v Atl Moulds- at SF Clayton- v Carol leaning towards first 3 I know with D's who knows but: Jax- v Hou Cincy- V NYG leaning towards Jax at # 2 RB behind Edge: Portis- at Dall Bell- at Tenn leaning towards Portis especially after hearing Droughns is starting Thank you and happy holidays Hugh. redcoltfan
Hugh, Please pick ONE to go with Jimmy Smith and Nate B.(going against C-pepp-will use Nate as safeguard). Moulds @ SF Clayton vs. Car. TJ Hous vs. NYG Ward vs. BALT. What do your think? Thanks
bumpersb
The saga continues Favre or McNabb. Both on National TV, both have good match-ups. I don't think Favre's injury will impede his performance. While McNabb might not play the whole game and losing TO will make a difference in his numbers. Who do you start? Jumpin Johnies
Hey Hugh, who would you start this week at qb. My choices are Greise vs. Carolina or Delhomme vs. Tampa. Our scoring is 6 points for every passing or rushing td, 1/2 point for every completion and 1 point for every 25 yards passing. Thanks for the help. I bench Kennison in favor of Harrison, and then at the flex I plug in McAllister. Sorry, I'm just not a Kennison fan, and with Mannings record waiting in the wings, starting Indy WR's is a good thing. I would also start Edge over Portis. tev
Hi Hugh, I'm in the finals and need to decide on a defense. Choices are: ATL v. NO or CIN v. NYG? 10 Points for a shutout. No other score based points (so once the offense scores, it doesn't matter how many points they put up.) Then pretty standard defensive scoring, DTD's (worth more points than offensive td's), sacks, fbr, int etc. I've got the rest of my lineup just about set (see below if you're interested), but the defense could make a difference. What do you think? Thanks and Happy Holidays. Volek DDavis Pittman R.Moss Kennison B.Williams or K.Dilger J.Feely ??????

Tiki has faded somewhat, and I just think McAllister is a better option. Defense is a tough call. Caroloina has been HOT, but I think I'd give the nod to Washington. NYJetsFan
Oh Great one... who do you think I should start as my Def: Jets vs Pats, Mia vs Cle or Bucs vs Car. Also, as far as my flex, do I go with T. Bell or D-Jax? Scoring is standard btw... Edited December 22, 2004 by NYJetsFan
dante
I've started NE D every week this season (exluding bye week). They have provided me with a lot of points. Our D"s get points based on the amount of yardage given up. Am I crazy for thinking about starting Miami D this week at home vs the Browns or should I stick with NE D @ Jets? I can't decided and I am in my Superbowl!

Williams had a good week, finally, but he's really playing in pain and Chicago's secondary is better than the Vikes who he played last week. Clayton is solid and consistent, I wouldn't bench him. The Vikes play Green Bay. In Minnesota. The Vikes play well at home, and Green Bay has no secondary. I think playing Moss and Burleson this week is a great move. Cleveland scored 7 points in 2 weeks. 7 points total. Start Miami. Good luck.
Men In Tights
Hey Hugh, I want to start by thanking you, with your help I am in the championship game. I assume others appreciate your analysis and advice as much as I do. Scoring is standard performance, 6-pts all TD's, with 1-pt per reception. QB-Griese vs. Carolina or Brooks vs. Atlanta--I am leaning Griese since Atlanta has nothing to play for and I expect it to be low scoring. RB-(pick 2)-D Davis @ Jags, Edge vs. SD, Pittman vs. Car, and JJ vs. Was--I am not considering JJ, but thought I would throw him out there... I am leaning Edge and Pittman since DD is going against a very tough Jags D (even though he is almost all of the Texans offense) Thanks Hugh, and hoping you and yours have a safe and Happy Holiday season. Midget Chain Gang
Hugh, thanks for all your advice in past weeks... once again I seek your guruish knowledge. This week I'll be starting these guys for sure: QB - Culpepper RB - R. Johnson RB - Pittman WR - J. Smith TE - A. Gates K - Stover Def - Redskins I need to select 2 of the following players: RB - Westbrook @ St.L. RB - A. Smith vs. Den. RB - S. Morris vs. Cle. WR - R. Smith @ Ten. WR - B. Stokley vs. S.D. WR - A. Johnson @ Jax. Scoring: 1 pt per 10 total yards, 3 pt bonus for RBs that go over 150 total yards, 1 pt per catch for WRs. 6pts for TDs less than 40, and 9pts for TDs more than 40. Thanks again, Hugh!
Feartheturtle
Happy Holidays Hugh I need 1 QB: Vick @ New Orleans (Will he play?) Hasselbeck vs. Arizona (Is he healthy?) Delhomme @ Tampa Bay (Tampa is my defense so I don't want to root against them if I don't have to.) I'm leaning toward Hasselbeck since they have a lot to play for and are at home. I need 3 RB: L.Johnson vs. Oakland (No Brainer) T.Bell & R. Droughns @ Tennessee E.James vs. San Diego J.Jones vs. Washington Johnson is a definite, I was leaning toward Bell until I heard Droughns was starting, James has been solid all year, Jones has a lot of upside, but going against a tough D. Thanks for your opinion

That would make Mason a very good option next week. Please start him. Your other 4 options are actually all quite good. Clayton has faded a little, but I think he'll have a decnet day against a very hot defense. He's a decent option, but probably your worst. Bench please. Moulds has a great matchup. He's been having a hard time finding the end zone. I like him this week, as I think teams will have to start to respect Evans more and more (remember the Peerless Price years?). He's a bit of a risk, and in your case your second worst option. Bench please. In other words, start Horn and Porter. I'm sketchy about Porter, but against KC you just CAN'T go wrong. Horn is hot, they're at home, and he played well in their first meeting. No reason to sit him. Jacksonville. I wouldn't start a banged up Bell in a Shanahan RBBC clusterf*ck, regardless of what the huddle projects, when I have another good option. Portis is another good option. Portis please. Good luck. Naked Bootleggers
Here's what I'm looking at Hugh. Start 3 WRs (1 pt per 10 yards and 6 pts per TD) Horn VS ATL Walker @ MIN Evans @ SF A Johnson @ JAX Clayton VS CAR *I'm leaning towards Horn, Walker and Evans Start 2 RBs (1 pt per 10 yards and 6 pts per TD) A Green @ MIN Pittman VS CAR Bell @ TEN I'm leaning towards Green and Bell Thoughts...opinions? Thanks again for your opinions.
Hugh 0ne
Hugh,Please pick ONE to go with Jimmy Smith and Nate B.(going against C-pepp-will use Nate as safeguard). Moulds @ SF Clayton vs. Car. TJ Hous vs. NYG Ward vs. BALT. What do your think? Thanks 626426 All decent. Moulds has the best matchup, and is the primary target. I know he's been cold lately, but like I mentioned earlier, the recent success of Evans could really open it up for Moulds, and with the matchup being solid, I really like Moulds this week. Gdawg
Happy Holidays Hugh! The very best to you and your family. Well, I made it, Im in the championship!!! Dont ask me how, must be that blind squirrel/occasional nut thing Here's what Ive got: I need to pick a defense from these three: Miami v Cle, NE @ NYJ, CAR @ Tampa Also, I have a dreaded kicker question (sorry, if you want to ignore it I understand, I know these guys are hit/miss), if you wouldnt mind weighing in Id be grateful: Lindell @ SF (50's, some showers) or Graham @ NYG Finally, would you start Kitna (@ NYG) if he plays, Brady @ NYJ, or McCown @ Sea. Kinda irritating questions I know, but if you'd help me this one last time I'd appreciate it! Gdawg

Hugh 0ne
The saga continues Favre or McNabb. Both on National TV, both have good match-ups. I don't think Favre's injury will impede his performance. While McNabb might not play the whole game and losing TO will make a difference in his numbers. Who do you start? 626431 McNabb has gone from a must start to a don't start. No TO, and in a meaningless game is not a good option. If TO is throwing to Pinkston as his primary WR you can shelf him indefinitely. Favre, in essence playing for the division title, against a porous Vikes secondary, is a very good option.
