I have been playing on PokerStars for a few months now. Well, been playing on there longer than that, but just recently deposited some cash to play for real money. At first, I really liked it. Got a bit frustrated with the tables (5/10 cent NL) I was primarily playing on. Moved up to .10/.25 and noticed the cards played MUCH differently. It was almost like the board was "heavier", so to speak, on the smaller tables to encourage higher betting. And on the higher-stake tables, it was tougher. Anyways, everyone says that the tables aren't loaded.... blah blah blah. But fact is fact according to my own two eyes. That said, I'm willing to drop a little coin on another site to compare. Have you played anything lower/higher than your normal level? How good/bad are the players? Well-stocked with fish? Chasers? Chit-talkers? I ask because PokerStars has more and more chit-talkers than I care to see. Plus I can't tell you how many bad beats I suffer there. I can't bring myself to get to the larger limit tables. I save that for Vegas. If I'm gonna be playing for serious (or even somewhat serious) money, I want to see the guys/gals I'm playing against, feel the chips, see the cards, etc. So I'm looking for a site that has decent players at lower limit tables. Honestly, in playing a few days' worth on the .10/.25 tables on PokerStars, I'm getting a bit more comfortable with it... but would certainly try out another site. You will find chasers and chit talkers in any online poker room. (poker room tough guys) They'll pull the chase card once in a while on the river and beat me, I just say "nice hand" and hope they'll play the hand the same way next time. The players at the .50/1.00 are the best to make money off of. They're mostly college students playing with mom and dad's money. The best time to play without a doubt is Thur, Fri, or Sat night. These guys come home with their beer muscles on and can't fold a hand. I have player notes on over 300 players, mostly at the .50/1.00 level. I can email you my notes, I have no problem with that.
