Skippy
I am a resident of the City of Pittsburgh. After the Super Bowl the streets were filled with screaming fans. There were plenty of major streets with outrageous numbers of people out celebrating. The noise up my way didn't stop until well after 2am. Yesterday there were a quarter million people clogging the streets of downtown Pittsburgh. There were cars strewn everywhere and no matter where you looked there were terrible towel waving fans making their way to town. Considering what happens when other cities win championships then realizing that so far as I know there were two cars overturned and about 30 total arrests the night of the Super Bowl, I am amazed. Not one single problem, other than the amount of people, at the parade that they are saying had a quarter of a million people attend. I have got to give the Pittsburgh fans a hugh Are there other cities out there that have won major championships and not burned the town down? I have to admit that I was really expecting things to be out of control but in the end it was all good, IMO.

wiegie
Are there other cities out there that have won major championships and not burned the town down?1314357[/snapback] St. Louis. (Also, concerning the crowds of cheering people--I think that mostly has to do with them learning the news that I will be paying your fair city a visit in a few months. Tell my adoring fans that I love them and that I share their excitement for the upcoming economic history conference I will be attending.) It happened 22 years ago and we've had 3 NBA titles and 3 Stanley Cups since then with similar results as Pittsburgh this year. F'n Jimmy Kimmel.
