Don't ask me about it's equivalent in decimal form I get a little confused in that area. Try researching it on Wiki.
wiegie
It doesn't? But it's the closest fraction to it. No it's not. For example, try 773/246. There are an infinite number of fractions that are closer to pi than 22/7 is.

H8tank
how many get in??? If there is demand, and money, they build another school or increase capacity. See, this is what America is founded on. The left hates America so I don't think you'll get it. If the school sucks, and no one goes there, they get no money, it gets closed down. wiegie
it wont be the same school, wont have the same teachers, admin etc... and we dont build schools buy throwing 7 trailer houses together so how much do you think that will cost??? H8 had it nailed. The people who successfully organized the first school will organize a different school. I have no idea how much it will cost, but it almost certainly won't cost anymore than it does to organize a school as things are currently arranged. (For example, a successful private school in my hometown initially set itself up about 25 years ago in some empty office space.)

BeeR
My parents were both high school teachers in suburban Chicago. The thing that they complained about the most was getting blamed for the students not paying attention and not trying. And it's overwhelmingly the fault of the parents, who blame the teachers when Johnny Bling-Bling doesn't do his homework and gets a 10 on his ACT. Johnny has no incentive to work because his parent(s) don't make him and he figures that he can easily go on welfare and deal Josh Gordon when he gets out of school. I agree that some of the teachers aren't very good at handling disruptive children, some are borderline-incompetent, and many just don't care. But ultimately, it's up to the student to take the initiative to learn the material. Despite what some of the idiot parents think, it's not the teacher's job to MAKE the student learn. And this is all a part of a greater "entitlement" problem. A lot of people these days think that they're entitled to an education if they simply show up to class. And that they're entitled to a welfare check if they flunk out and can't make ends meet. There's no real incentive to work, so many of them don't. so does 'ski. PS I am shocked that this happens in Chicago.

Stupid people will tell you that no matter what job you have everyone deserves, or are "entitled" to the same amount of income, education, etc.. They will offer the moronic opinion that the real incentive to work hard is to feel better about helping others. Doctors don't do it for the money, they do it because they enjoy helping people; however, a burger flipper should make the same amount of money as a doctor because they are entitled to it -- they work just as hard as a doctor, but in a different way. Right? See... sooner or later maybe we all can become Socialist, then and only then will we all be happy!

TheGrunt
oh, well in that case I'll simply point out that you spelled "moranic" wrong. Good point. I won't make that mistake again. Although, once again I still believe Socialists aren't just 'moranic'. It takes a special kind of stupid to believe Socialism actually works.
