H8tank
splain this: In a groundbreaking 2006 report, the United Nations (U.N.) said that raising animals for food generates more greenhouse gases than all the cars and trucks in the world combined. Senior U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization official Henning Steinfeld reported that the meat industry is “one of the most significant contributors to today’s most serious environmental problems.”2 http://www.un.org/apps/news/story.asp?News...Cr1=environment Your suggestions please. Do we need to continue to ADD to the polution using toxic gases? No you don't. If you are concerned with global warming, then it is your moral obligation to stop eating meat. You can live on the vegetarian or vegan lifestyle just fine.

Just another human activity that takes carbon from the planet and puts it in the atmosphere, just like burning fuels. But I'm not giving up my meat. Azazello1313
read this fwiw, i think this article is total agenda-driven spin, and am therefore wary (to say the least) of its marshaling of scientific evidence and its policy conclusions. but then again, i feel that way about almost EVERY global warming article i read. bushwacked
Ah but the poor liberals that can afford an SUV can still afford ground chuck, and they don't want to give that up. I still don't understand the point. First you claim no one can prove global warming is real, and now put credence in this selected article to generalize the those who express some valid concerns about the issue as hypocritical leftists who should become vegans. A lot of us here simply and factually state the scientific consensus says global warming is real and contend it is something we should consider. It's not like claiming to care about competent fiscal and foreign leadership then voting for Chimpy McCokehead twice.
