Randall
August 11, 2007, 21:58 Chiefs :: RB Chiefs, RB Johnson Getting Closer To Extension Adam Schefter, NFL Network Adam Schefter reported during the Titans/Redskins preseason game on Saturday that talks between star RB Larry Johnson and the Chiefs have improved significantly. The gap between the two parties has lessened and there is now hope that a deal can get done in the near future. Johnson has not attended training camp yet this year. Outshined
Has LJ mentioned how long he plans to hold out for?
Grits and Shins
Long hold out = hamstring injury
MikesVikes
I wonder if LJ or the Chiefs are getting any calls from keeper league owners?
Randall
I wonder if LJ or the Chiefs are getting any calls from keeper league owners? I've been calling because I don't have LJ and want him to hold out. Too bad LT doesn't retire.
Chadman
Great news, however, Schefter is the same guy who was predicting a prolonged holdout for Adrian Peterson and the Vikes the day before he signed. Having low picks in my drafts, I was hoping he would not sign or have much good news until my drafts...but that's a bit selfish, I realize. bushwacked
Has LJ mentioned how long he plans to hold out for? Unless he said he is prepared to sit out the whole season wouldn't saying..."I'll be back by Week 3" defeat the purpose of him holding out? dawgpack
Shoot. I was really hoping to see him in GB.
MikesVikes
Doesn't he have to come back by week 9 or 10 to get the year in? With tail between his legs I might add. But the fans would probably revolt against the Chiefs front office before then.

muck
My bet, if he is signed this week, it'll be announced within 12hrs either side of the next preseason game ... I still think that there is a better than 50/50 chance it doesn't happen just yet...

muck
Heard in Sirius on the way in today... "Carl Peterson confirmed that they are getting closer to getting a deal done, but the final deal may still be a couple of weeks away."
peepinmofo
Heard in Sirius on the way in today... "Carl Peterson confirmed that they are getting closer to getting a deal done, but the final deal may still be a couple of weeks away." Well, then you must have missed the part where Peterson said something to the likes of, "We are both further away then the number we want to be at...." I dont think any progress has been made personally, but we'll see. ETA - Theyre talking now about how they are close, but that doesnt change what Carl Peterson said. Sounds like itll get done, but by when... Edited August 14, 2007 by peepinmofo
