Czarina
I don't think $250 will pay for gas to and from Chi-town. As much as I'd love to do a roadie up there, it's not gonna happen. Appreciate the offer though. I think I'll be getting a HUGH shed eventually. Yeah, that was the original owner's grill that was left back there. It's gone now. My grill is just your basic 2-burner propane jobber, nothing special. At some point I'll be gettin' something nice. Dude you know you're welcome any time. We got 2 extra rooms so daughter can stay in her own room! Oh, and the electricity was turned off so it was wayyyyyyy too hot in there for ... maybe Monday. Thanks for all the well wishes, y'all. Took a small load of junk over tonight. Brought the puppy. She loves the HUGH yard. Our neighbors on one side is a young vegan couple. Nice folks. Wait till they get a whiff of my cheez-it burgers. Too hot for ? Is the shower broken too?

darin3
Nice digs D, I will be in San Antonio again the week of 10/22. Hope to be able to hook up with you and RB for some serious Dude come on up. By that time we will have a full-on guest room and you're more than welcome to crash. That may actually be right around the time we have our Halloween Housewarming party. Good thing you'll already be in costume! --- Spent all day at the house with a general contractor / handyman guy. I am "somewhat handy" but I don't have all the tools necessary to do everything we wanted done. Plus, the seller gave us some $$$ towards repairs, etc. We blew out the backside of one of the kitchen cabinets - seen here (upper left) - so there's a nice "floating" cabinet where we'll put our dishes and glasses. Put some nice decorative "framing" around the newly opened "holes". Turned out sweet.

darin3
Curious to what you paid for the new house? About $102/sf.... which in the area is just over the average, but this place was completely remodeled and on almost 1/4 of an acre. Bargain. Welp, we hired some professional movers and got a U-Haul yesterday and got the "big" stuff over. So last night was the first overnight at the new pad. Up early as the wifey works this morning. The puppy did well with her new sleeping arrangements and we have a lot ahead of us in terms of organizing ... and still some crap left over at the apartment.
