Chief Dick
Like e-trade, et al? I don't have a whole lot of experience in the stock trading, so I really want to educate myself. I thought about opening an account on one of those types of sites. At this point I wouldn't put a lot of money in the account until I feel comfortable with everything. Any site you can recommend? And don't tell me to hire someone else to manage my money--I really want to take this opportunity to learn about the stock market. Any suggestions would be appreciated? rocknrobn26
I've used http://www.buyandhold.com/bh/en/ $6.99/ month with I believe 1 trade / month, though I never used it. They also give partials. I was going to dump it all in Dec., but waited. Too F'n long, I lost 20%! There is always next year.

muck
I use interactive brokers, too. Not geared to the novice, though. A platform for seasoned traders/investors -- all the focus is on execution, no analysis, etc.
CaP'N GRuNGe
A buddy at work uses Scott-trade and is very happy with it. $7 per trade.
SheikYerbuti
I had a TD Waterhouse account until they were gobbled up by ameritrade. I've been perfectly happy with them since the merger, but I'm long on everything so I almost never do any active trading.
darin3
www.scottrade.com A buddy at work uses Scott-trade and is very happy with it. $7 per trade. While I've heard good things about ScottTrade, I don't use the sites anymore as I have a wicked good financial planner. Double Agent
Trading individual stocks is risky business. If you're going to do it, do the research. I've heard good things about VectorVest. I have some clients that use it and they've all done fairly well. At some point I'll play the stock game. But for now I'm all about mutual funds.
