summer drink ideas and favorites......

beer--leinies summer shanty, good ole budlite, corona. all ice cold.

You're a Chicago guy and you pick budlite, corona etc... over the best beer in the world?!?!

Hands down, gotta go with the local brew Goose Island 312 for the best summer brew. Not just because I'm a homer either, it really is great beer. 2nd place goes to Goose Island Honker's Ale.

dmarc - I'm disappointed :D

Not true at all wiseguy. Goose Island is brewed locally here in Chicago and AB has nothing to do with the brewing process.I think you're getting your facts mixed up and jumped the gun a bit. I think this is what you're referring to.

(Crain’s) — Goose Island Beer Co. is getting access to an expanded distribution network and a new slate of investors in a deal loosely affiliated with brewing giant Anheuser-Busch Companies Inc.

Officials at the Chicago-based brewery announced Wednesday that a deal with Widmer Brewing Co. of Portland, Ore. will allow Goose Island to tap into the vast network of independent wholesalers that distribute Anheuser-Busch products. Anheuser-Busch is a minority investor in Widmer Brewing.

Nice effort in trying to call me out

That's actually a very well made version and, as it turns out, the one responsible for turning the American public onto the grape. That said, it really doesn't deserve the price it gets relative to others of the region.

The thing to really keep in mind with Pinot Grigio is the region. You really want to stick to the Northern most and mountain areas of Italy. Santa Margherita comes from the Alto Adige and it's pretty hard to go wrong with most that come from there. The watery crap tends to come from further south and in Valley areas.

I'm far more partial to Viogniers when it comes to whites, savage I recommend you give one a shot. It's usually quite good. Smoking Loon has an 8 dollar bottle that is well worth it.
